Rectocele repair surgery
I had an
episiotomy
and tearing after my first birth so my second pregnancy just made this worse. I was incredibly embarrassed about having to splint when I was only in my 30s so eventually I sought help.

Totally distraught and worried!!!
I had an
episiotomy
and forceps delivery. Recovery time was pretty good, and apart from lots and lots of lochea, things healed up well. But then of course came the stress incontinence. It was fairly mild to start with, with just the odd leak.

Prolapse 10 months after giving birth.
I had an forceps and
episiotomy
delivery 10 months ago and have a stage 2 prolapse. Although the bulge feeling has improved I still get pain in my lower stomach especially around the time I ovulate and when my period is due.

😢 postpartum mental health
My history is very complex - infertility, traumatic birth, postpartum haemorrhage, poorly healed
episiotomy
needing surgery etc. We also had a significant family bereavement (my young nephew died) and another bereavement all in the same year.

What’s it really like? Birth Story…
I had a spinal just before
episiotomy
. Nothing else before hand. I found HG worst for the first 14 weeks of pregnancy than labour 3. You know best. Don’t let someone who doesn’t know you, tell you your not ready to come to hospital.

How to avoid lifting when you have small children?
My first baby was big and I had an
episiotomy
and I wasn’t given any form of internal examination. My recovery was extremely painful. It was only when I was pregnant with my 2nd (4 years later) that I realised something was wrong below.

Prolapse and bowel incontinence
I am 70, and had a long posterior labour with my first son, followed by forceps delivery and
episiotomy
, which has left scarring.

Could my symptoms be endometriosis?
The labour was extremely long and painful and I ended up having to have an
episiotomy
and forceps delivery. Since then, my periods have got worse and I am fed up of being fobbed off by the GP again. They are now blaming my age and hormones!

Episiotomy and foreceps without consent
It was only the next day when I had been transferred to the ward that one of the midwives mentioned the word
episiotomy
and I was finally told I'd had one. I didn't consent to it and had they asked I would have said no and that I'd rather a C-section.

Advice about referral and the right thing to say
I gave birth in 2006 with forceps, full spinal and an
episiotomy
. I got a vaginal and lower abdominal ultrasound - performed very quickly (rushed?) with little communication from the nurse, it came back clear of any abnormalities.

Apologies if TMI... Any advice on what to expect very gratefully received
Evening all, Many of you know I have had recent gynae surgery to correct poorly healed
episiotomy
after postpartum haemorrhage ... Went well apart from minor post op infection treated with antibiotics. All appearing to heal at my last check. I've now started conservative treatment..

Hmmmm.... Unsure about recent consultation. Feeling rubbish 🤔😥
Traumatic birth 2018 resulting in large postpartum haemorrhage and poorly healed
episiotomy
. Currently awaiting surgery for this. As a result of being so unwell, I developed PND. All treatment on hold due to COVID!

Thank you to everyone, time out has given me a chance to reflect
Although this was successful (and I will be eternally grateful for this), I had a very traumatic birth resulting in a prolonged labour, huge amounts of intervention and assisted delivery, large postpartum haemorrhage and a poorly healed
episiotomy
scar requiring surgery.

Persistent thrush after pregnancy?
I had an
episiotomy
if that might mean something. Has anyone else experienced repeated thrush after giving birth? Thank you xx

Hello everyone ❤️
Traumatic birth, resulting in a large postpartum haemorrhage and poorly healed
episiotomy
scar. Very unwell for months. Developed PTSD and PND. I am in need of surgery to correct the scar that has so badly healed. My surgery was cancelled twice.
