Pain after hysterectomy

Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying a restful Christmas.

I haven’t posted in a while but I’ve been experiencing pain and wondered if anyone has had a similar experience…

…I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in 2007. Then in 2012 I had a laparoscopy and was diagnosed and treated for endometriosis. Between 2017-2021 I had the Marina coil, mini pill and Prostap injections, at one stage, all at the same time! A scan revealed that I also had adenomyosis which is why I ended up having a hysterectomy as the Prostap infections didn’t work, thus, the endo wasn’t the main cause of my symptoms. Having the Hysterectomy was the best decision of my life. I had 2 kids already and was super sure I wouldn’t want anymore. I had a full hysterectomy including cervix, fallopian tubes, and just my left ovary, so I still have my right ovary and haven’t needed to go on HRT.

Everything has been great ever since my surgery in 2021 until the last 18 months. I was in hospital with terrible right sided abdominal pain. After being messed about for nearly 5 days, a gastro surgeon suggested I have surgery to check/remove my appendix and or ovary. I was admitted to the ward, put on antibiotics and was gowned up ready for surgery the following morning when doctor came to see me and said I wasn’t having surgery. I was discharged within a couple of hours and had no explanation for the pain I was still in! I spent the next 6 months with a private gastroenterologist where I did various diet changes, had endoscopy and CT scan which revealed nothing significant. I was then discharged from him with a suspected gluten sensitivity (which I didn’t agree with but couldn’t afford to keep going). A year has gone by and I still get this localised right sided abdominal pain constantly but sometimes it’s really painful. My bowel habit has changed but stool samples haven’t revealed anything either, so I went to see a dr who said she suspects that there may be endometriosis on my bowel which is something I haven’t even considered!

I apologise for the long winded message but wanted to give context. Has anyone experienced pain after a hysterectomy, or had endometriosis spread to other organs? Or, similar abdominal pain that’s not related to endometriosis?

I was supposed to be having a scan but have received a referral to gastroenterology which I’m not sure I need.

Thanks

Hi JW, I'm sorry about the pain you're going throughI would push for a pelvic and abdo MRI to see if it shows about any endo on bowel , that's how they found mine
