Just when you think the worst is over, I’ve just been for an ultrasound to check if my coil I had fitted during my lap is in the right place as I’ve had bad pains, and luckily it is however he showed me a cyst on my right ovary.
I had a lap 5 weeks ago and was told in the post surgery report that they removed endo from my pelvis mostly on the left side. Surely a cyst can’t grow as quickly as 5 weeks?
I also had a ultrasound back in June of my ovaries to check them and they found no cysts. I’m just knocked for six as to where this has come from!
Has anyone ever experienced similar? He said it will be up to my GP to decide what to do next.
Thank you x

Depending on the type of cyst, I think they can pop up quite quickly - especially taking in to consideration your cycle etc. There are some cysts that pop up on the ovary during ovulation for example, but then go away again. So it is possible.
Same thing happened to me - they actually confirmed PCOS during surgery, too, so for me, while it was extremely frustrating to have a cyst so soon after surgery, it wasn't surprising at all.
It may be worth testing for PCOS if you haven't already, just in case. Otherwise I hope they can get you some relief soon!!
Aah yes I do have PCOS but it’s the hormonal syndrome side of it not the actual cysts! I’ve had that since I was in my teens but every time they scanned they have never found any cysts! Thank you so much x
I just spoke to my GP and she has advised the report said it’s a deep cyst on the right ovary 5cm long. She said I have to have a urgent blood test to check for cancer and then be referred back to gynaecology. I just worry she’ll refer me to my original consultant who I didn’t get the best care from post surgery as I’d ‘had the treatment and that was it’! But all I can do is wait!
