Pain 6 weeks after endometriosis laparoscopy

Hey guys I was just wondering if this is normal before yet another trip back to the doctors. So I had a small amount of Endo removed and an endometrial cyst removed from my ovary about 6 weeks ago. The cyst was in my right side so that incision is the largest and was infected about 3 weeks ago. That has calmed down and healed now but I now have a pulling aching pain inside on what I imagine is my ovary (but I don’t know how you actually know haha) anyways it’s hurting a bit and I was just wondering if this is normal as it wasn’t hurting until the last few days. It’s also sore to touch the incision again. Has anyone else experienced this or do you think it’s time to book another doctors appointment?

Thank you in advance x

I’m about 10wks post lap and I still get some pain around my ovary area. Think we just need to give it a bit more time to heal inside x

Hi!

I’m 8 weeks post op and still in a fair bit of pain! I had a lot of Endo removed and a cyst from my left ovary. I found out on Friday I have blood clot on my ovary that may be contributing to my pain but who knows. Anyway, it seems to me that we all expect our bodies to just bounce back when actually we need plenty of time to heal and get back to the ‘new’ normal. Look after yourself and also, I would go and see your doctor, just to be safe :)

Best of luck!

Xx

Hi, I’m 10 weeks past laparotomy and yes get sore pulling feeling around week 7. I went to my dr as was worried was told to give my body time to heal. I still get the feeling especially if Iv walked a lot and at night.

I find heat helps to soothe it also if you can a gentle massage. If you’re worried still go and see your dr though. I saw a lovely dr, who told me he’d prefer to see me 100 times and it be nothing rather than me sit at home and worry and not come in and it be something serious. I appreciate he’s a rare dr, but it made me feel better and that’s what Iv done. Good luck

I think the ovary pain itself is normal as you are still healing and it truly is a very slow process. Keep an eye on the incision though to make sure it’s not infected!

I would go back to Dr and get the incision scar checked again. The ovary will be sore as it can take up to 3 months for internal wounds to heal. But the scar should have healed and you should be able to touch the skin without it being sore. Better to be on the safe side and get it checked. Good luck x
