Prostap and ivf

Hi, i had surgery on Tuesday to remove a tube, drain a cyst and have a prostap injection. I am recovering well, it was my 2nd lap so was more prepared this time.

My question is when will my period come? Is it like zoladex that it will be 2 weeks post injection? I was due my period on the day of surgery but i had the progesterone only pill to delay it and i think i have had just had a period, its hard to tell though.

I have a baseline scan at the ivf clinic on 31st oct, 3 week post surgery and injection. I cant have another one of these injections awake!

Hang on in there... You will know when your period will come. There is soo much technology and medication, that they put on.

As I said I didn’t have the chance to have ivf..

If you are unsure speak to your consultant, I’m sure they will explain everything..

Your period will come, but I had bad reactions to zoladex my period only returned after 5 years. Good luck

Thank you. 5 years, wow, i am sorry to hear that. After my first course of zoladex it was a monthas i also had the coil.

Zoladex affects the menstrual cycle and can continue to affect it afterwards, it is important to make sure your periods return to a regular, healthy cycle after the treatment is stopped.

Hi, thank you, i have had these horr injections before, this time is different as i start ivf and so all being well i will end up pregnant and have no periods for 9 mths.

It returned to normal last time but its all these side effects i hate, my emotions are going all over the place and coupled with sleeping badly its a bad combination x
