I'm new to the site but have taken some comfort in reading your posts. I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis in Jan and treated for it. My bowel and ovary was stuck together and I had a cyst on my ovary..again removed. They didn't remove all the endo and I had mirena coil fitted. I'm also on zoladex injections. My fourth in will be in 2 weeks time. I'm writing as I'm feeling frustrated as my pain has come back. It's not as severe but it's every day and almost constant. It's more of a dull ache in my back and hips. Anyone else had it cone back. I'm feeling so down and frustrated. My next appointment with my consultant is not till May and seems so far away! Would be so grateful to hear i anyone has experienced the same. Thankyou so much x

I had really bad hip pain whilst on zoladex to the point where I could hardly walk GP sent me for an X-ray which came back fine and they put it down to the injections. As soon as I started on a low dose of hrt (tibolone) the pains stopped.
I now have the mirena which is causing lower back and pelvic cramps in my experiencec all treatments have had some negative side effects. I have to say zoladex with hrt was the best for me.
I didn't realise you could have the coil and mirena at the same time.
Sorry typo! I have the mirena fitted! Thanks for taking the time to reply..Not really sure what's causing it! It's such a frustrating condition. Glad things seem to be working for you now.
I meant to say I didn't realise you could have the mirena and zoladex at the same time.
It's 2 years since I had zoladex which worked at the time. since then I've had another 3 laps where thy had to change mirena each time, I'm not sure I like the mirena as the cramps are really bad. But only had this one in 6 weeks so I'm hoping it settles down. I might ask to go back on zoladex if it doesnt
I guess it's always worth asking! I have been fine up to about 2 weeks ago when it all seems to have started again. Wow..3 Laps...I can't imagine having to keep having them! My consultant is talking about hysterectomy!?
your surgery was recent so you need to give your body time to heal. I had surgery for stage 4 endo with bowel involvement. They fitted the Mirena during the operation as well. Honestly, the combination of recovering from the op and the Mirena settling in took about 9 months. I felt all sorts of pains everywhere during that time, including aches and pains in my back, hips and leg, but after that, I felt fantastic for around 18 months.
Since then a big cyst formed between my bowel and uterus and was extremely painful and difficult to live with. I also had scar tissue from the last operation that was stuck together. I have just had my second op and the best news was that no new endo had grown since my last op so as much as I dislike the Mirena and what it has put my body through it must be helping to prevent endo forming.
Give yourself some time - your body has been through trauma and it will take time for everything inside to heal and for the Mirena to settle in.
I feel better after reading this but still scared knowing cysts grow back . I had my first laparoscopy 6 weeks ago which entailed the removal of endo and 2 cysts and today had a horrible stabbing pain which was coming and going ? I am due to have the coil fitted but wondered if it was normal to still have bouts of pain ?
I'm a bit concerned as to why they didn't remove any endo. You say it was a private consultant that specialises in endo but are they registered with the BSGE? If they're not that might be why they didn't remove any. Severe endo should only be treated by a surgeon on that list. So have a look on the BSGE website and check that they are on it. If they're not then PLEASE find one on that list and then go back to GP and get a referral to them. You deserve to get the correct treatment and not to keep suffering. I'm not trying to be pushy or anything I just hate the thought of anyone suffering unnecessarily and ending up in the position that I was. I just want what is best for you.
