There are times when my anxiety is very high and I have huge swings in BP, but up and down. When my BP is very low, usually after coming off of a huge panic attack, my vision is blurred for a few hours. I will be wanting to see a cardiologist at this point given I have a good journal of BP measurements over 6 months. I can't see any trend except when it's low, my vision is a mess. When BP returns to normal, vision comes back OK.

I really would like to know, what makes vision blurry when anxious? My vision gets blurry a lot. I had thought it was from my glasses being smudged, but I don't think that's the reason. I, also, am in a near-constant state of anxiousness.

90/60 seems to be the trigger or slightly higher or even lower. In the same day it spikes to 160/110. Most of the Drs offices show me slightly elevated at 135/90...and they always say it's cuz you're anxious. I wasn't ever the person that had BP issues before. The vision loss is when I can't see. I also suffer from syncope bouts that I can feel coming on and need to get to the crowd quickly. I may only be out for a few second or a minute or two....but I'm now on driving restriction from it all.

Absolutely. I had a horrible night last week where I was headed into surgery the next day. For the first time I hatched a plan....so I hadn't been too much in that headspace until last week. My anxiety was at an all time high as it was to extract all of my front teeth and replace bone matter that was lost. Surgery was to be awake and was told to hold 10 hours of time. I wasn't able to do it because I wasn't mentally stable. The doctor/dental team took one look at me and said not today. Plus I was running a small fever which isn't uncommon for me with some of my physical diseases.

Physical symptom wise, I often pass out, vomit, sweat like crazy and then the BP changes!

Unfortunately for me, I have a terminal diagnosis. At best I have five years. I'm more focused on EMDR therapy for PTSD at the moment. However, given my physical health circumstances I suspect anxiety will increase as time goes on. My kids are young and having to watch me waste away. Hence some of the terrible thoughts....am I doing more harm than good while they watch me decline. If my ex was a reasonable person, I think I would be handling ok. Due to disability, he is trying to take away most of my 50% of custody. True and pure evil!

HI there, I'm 44, so not a spring chicken, but a little young to be dealing with huge BP swings. I too have experienced daily anxiety since the age of about 14. A lot was driven by my parents demanding perfection. I managed my anxiety by just doing more and more activities and being busy all of the time. This was not good mgmt of anxiety. I did 20 years of CBT and I loved my therapist, but I never had a break through really. It always ended up changing meds or something. Finally I am with a trauma focused therapist and it changed my world....so I am happy about that!

I realize now that in 2020, I worked like a dog on screen 14 hours a day, got COVID early and in a state where I was too young to go to hospital. I have no recollection of COVID and how about 14 days went while recovering at home. I believe the combined stress/anxiety was just enough to pull out a bunch of hidden autoimmune disorders.

Three years later, 40 pounds lost (but most back now), I have 6 different diagnoses requiring over 20 medical professionals now. We still don't know about the BP issues yet. I see a cardiologist at the end of next month. I had seen one last year but the swings in BP weren't as huge. I added more salt to diet and compression pants in hopes that the syncope would stop. It clearly did not! I am also a Mom of three kids and that adds stress despite how much we love them. I think after my birthing years, everything just started to go down hill for me.
