Anyone experience vision symptoms? if so what are they?
vision: Anyone experience vision symptoms... - Anxiety Support
vision
Hi, yes I do! It's brain fog and blurry vision - which adds to the anxiety I'm already feeling! This is known as derealisation and is a 'normal' presentation for a lot of people with high, prolonged anxiety.
Hi my friend, what symptoms are you experiencing with your vision? Sometimes it's better not to start comparing with others. If you tell me yours, I'll tell you what mine are lol
4 years ago, was taking care of my dad who was terminal and my 4 year old and I had something that looked like double vision. I then had it day after his funeral. Then around 6 mos, we just got a puppy and one again..I had occasional tingling and twitching, so had MRI for Ms that was negative. Fast forward 2 years to last week and was checking forums for pristiq experience and I got it again. Last for around 1-2 minutes. No other symptoms. Scary, couple of weeks before this, had a tooth pulled and riding home, there was like a flashing light in vision and broken glass in vision..closed my eyes could still see it
That makes a difference in knowing the kind of vision distortion you are going through. Double vision as far as I know is not caused by anxiety. I had it at one time when I was driving the toll roads to the airport. That was scary. After having a full eye exam the next day, it was diagnosed as being a side effect of a new medication I was given. Stopped the meds, never had it again. What I do get is the blurry vision whenever I am under stress, almost like walking in a misty cloud. (usually happens more when I'm out) As soon as I'm back at home and relaxed, the vision clears.
Our eyes are such an important part of us that I would never take a chance in telling you it's just anxiety. Anxiety can be cruel but we still need to have a doctor check it out.
I agree, anything to do with the eyes is scary which then brings our anxiety levels up.
Be safe and set up an appointment to have that checked out. Wish you well. Let us know.
After the 2nd time..I had 2 eye exams and a blood test for ocular myaestenia gravis. Everything ok..doc said I had slight outward gaze and the brain compensates, but sometimes due to stress you could have brief accommodation spurts..of course my negative nature, I didn't believe him and thought something more sinister
As scary as it must be, as long as you have had 2 eye exams and everything is okay, I would try not to worry. I know harder said then done. It's unbelievable what stress can do to our bodies. It's one of the reasons I hate seeing a list of symptoms printed out, since it doesn't take much for our minds to pick up yet some other issues along the way.
Yes, 2 wks ago when I got the vision symptom (it had been 2 years) I went on this Facebook website for bfs.benign fasiculation syndrome. I have had tingling and twitching for years, but throw in the vision symptom and u start thinking Ms. Bfs is annoying, but not serious, so I perused the website, saw terrified people and read some posts that just fueled my anxiety. As I type this my daughter is crying and whining and this is not helping uuugggh
As Agora1 says, you've been tested by 2 specialists and they say you have no serious eye conditions. I suggest you stop trying to diagnose yourself by reading up on scary eye conditions that you don't have. As I often say: you can't cure yourself of an illness you don't have no matter how hard you try. So best to stop trying.
The most plausable explanation is from the doctor who says you have a slight outward gaze for which the brain compensates but when you are experiencing anxiety this compensation factor is not 100% and you briefly see double.
Do not invest this slight visual disturbance with fear because fear will only feed your anxiety which is what causes the visual effect.
You know what this is, you know it's not serious, feel free to get on with your life without worrying sbout this.
Thanks Jeff, I know I'm my worst enemy. It had been 2 years since I got it and was very upset when it returned. I would never search the scary stuff cause years ago, I did that and caused more problems. I was looking at some benign conditions, but accidentally saw some scary stuff. Last couple of weeks had cancer scare with my son, another health scare with my daughter, granddaughter s birth, and penned in the house from major snow storm, so lots of stress.
That's a lot to contend with. Although congratulations on becoming a grandpa. I hope mother and baby are okay. Is your son alright? I can thoroughly understand the fear of a major snow storm. We haven't been hit hard this year in Chicago but my fear was always that I couldn't get to help and they couldn't get to me if I needed them. Quite ridiculous since having worked with the fire department, nothing stops them in answering calls.
Take some "me" time for yourself with all this stress around you. Do some deep breathing and watch some audio videos on reducing stress. Just for 10-15 min can help quiet your mind and body some.
Thanks agora, after seeing the oncologist, my son had a lipoma, not lymphoma. Lipoma is a benign fat formation and thanks for the congrats. We r old pros at grandparenting, she's #7. We had kids at 18 and into our 40's. Still have an 8 year old at home. Life is fun, but anxiety sucks!
I thought I remembered you telling me your son was young.. Wow you are blessed to have 7 grandchildren. But you're right, Life is Great but Anxiety takes the joy out of so much.
I have a Lipoma at the base of my neck (for years now) what is the Oncologist going to do for your son. Is it a wait and see thing?? I'd be interested in how it's addressed. thanks
I had my son when I was 18, he is in his mid 30's. I now have a 8 yo daughter that my wife and I had in our 40's. My son told me the lipoma is on his bikini line. They thought it was his lymph nodes. He said he was gonna just leave it, it doesn't bother him, only anxiety of not knowing what it was.
I get blurred vision a lot.
youtu.be/fo139jYAFzA Check out this link. The first 3 times this happened to me I fell apart and thought I was going blind or having a stroke. I know you said it looked like flashing lights and broken glass. If so, it is a migraine with aura. Some people get the aura without the migraine to follow. Fortunately I just get the aura and no migraine. It took me a couple of years to finally come across this video. Now that I have and I’ve talked to my doctor, when I get them now, I sorta just sit back and let it run it’s course. Mine usually takes about 25 mins and it will finally work all the way out of my vision and I will be back to normal.
Thanks Derek. I did see that on you tube and that was one of the things I had. I was especially concerned about the 1 minute bout of double vision I had. My opthalmologist said it could be a convergence issue. In my querying on some of the anxiety website s no one seemed to experience that which only served to further worry me
