Seroquel for anxiety?

Has anyone been on Seroquel to help with generalized anxiety disorder? I was on paroxetine, then had to switch to sertraline 100mg. That was supplemented with buspirone and lorazepam o.5mg. Neither helped. Now I'm taking 25mg Seroquel twice a day. This is day 4. It feels like maybe it's helping a little bit so far. It might take longer for the full effect, though.

Hello, why did you switch to another substance? It takes about 6-8 weeks for your body to get used to it. I take Paroxetine too and try Sertraline, but didn’t work for me at all.

After 17 years paroxetine stopped working for me. Also, I got older and sertraline was a safer choice when you're a senior. So far it's been just 4 weeks on it. When I first started paroxetine, it did take at least 8 weeks to work. It worked well for many years for me.

I am taking 20 mg/day (Seroquel) and it definitely has helped my anxiety. I take 10 mg twice a day.

The doctor wants to be careful. I'd already had an EKG done shortly before first seeing a psychiatrist. My heart rhythm was normal. The test cost $13, was fast and easy, done in my PCP's office. My heart didn't feel OK, and there's heart disease on both sides of my family. Plus I'm old enough to be retired. But all was well. If you decide to go ahead, don't fear the test. As for Seroquel, I'm not feeling much benefit yet. I'm giving it time.

You’re only taking Seroquel, right? If it’s working, that’s great! I’m hoping you’ll feel much better very soon.

I was given lexapro and clonidine. It helped me 100%.

No, I'm on about 4 weeks of 100mg sertraline too. The Seroquel augments the ssri, but I'm not feeling any better yet. Still hanging in there, though.
