hey guys been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve been doing really well had a baby who’s now 2 moved into my new home my life is good! Christmas Day I tried and edible with my friends and I had a major panic attack because of this wanting to call for help making myself sick it was so bad and now I’ve been left with anxiety AGAIN! my own fault I know I’m sad that I even done it as my whole anxiety started because of this when I was 14. I’ve been on 20mg of citalopram for 2 years now and I’m wondering if they’ve maybe stopped working or I need to up them again? I’m scared to up them because the side affects and now I have a toddler to look after so it’s even harder having anxiety etc can anyone help? Should I up them ? Have they stopped working? Do I need to change meds thanks in advance I appreciate any help and. Suggestions

Hi Caitlin, I have been on Citalopram for years and have found a dose that suits my body. However, I also did years of work including CBT, Mindfulness, exercise, volunteering in the community and reading about depression and anxiety. You won’t be able to “up” your dose without your GP prescription, so there’s and excellent place to start. They will know better if more is better. Be honest with them and commit to working in partnership with your Doctor. My book recommendation is Prof Steven Peters, the chimp paradox.

Hi I’ve been in 20mg for years, I sometimes miss a tablet or 2 but I can tell when I have after a few days. See your doctor if you need to? All the best!
