Anyone here had a tension type headache where it hurts to press the temple?

I’ve got a tension type headache which is dull but it hurts to press the temple where the temporal muscle joins at the top. It’s on both sides. Any ideas what might be causing it and how to fix it?

Everyone gets headaches sometimes. Try taking paracetomol.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve had this one for about 8 weeks now. No medication seems to be helping

Oh sorry I didn't realise you had it for so long. That doesn't seem right. Have you seen a doctor? I would make an appointment.

Lots of things could cause this though. It could be eye strain, dehydration or a lot of stress. I hope you find some answers.

Thanks, I would think that it’s probably stress. There’s a fair bit going on at the moment so that’s likely.

You are welcome. Another thought just struck me. When I went back to the dr because of my depression he asked several times whether I had headaches? I said no but then it's not something I usually get. However my back is somewhere I feel stress instead.

I feel your pain, I’m exactly the same. I think it’s another symptom of the dreaded anxiety as like you no painkillers touch it. I’m going to speak to my consultant tomorrow about it

She said it’s probably because I’m depressed and anxious cause tension in the neck and head. I’ve got to have my blood pressure checked.It’s wasn’t a very positive meeting at all
