I do this too! Constantly check my bodily functions -sight/hearing/reflexes etc for anything strange. The thing is though, when you're anxious, everything feels 'strange' so it's easy to convince yourself there's something seriously wrong. What I always tell myself is that anxiety can produce so many weird symptoms so no reason so assume it's anything bad- and if the symptoms subside as you calm down, you can be pretty sure it was the anxiety causing them. Sometimes easier said than done but it helps me when I'm freaking out!
It always worries me if it’s something serious! The physical symptoms mimic life threatening things..have you ever had a panic attack that felt like a heart attack? You had all the symptoms and everything? I hate how anxiety does that
Mine always mimic a stroke. I swear. My head gets pressure and my hands go numb and I feel like I can't breathe and my chest starts hurting then my heart beat gets crazy.
SAME HERE! Another one I get a lot is when I’m out eating my throat gets all tight, hard to swallow, lump in the throat (which makes me feel like I’m choking and have food stuck in my throat) then I start to panic.
You’re definitely not alone! I’ve happen to do this all the time and stopped for a period of time because it’s a huge trigger for me. Today I caught myself feeling “dizzy” and Boom my heart started Pounding I thought I was going to die
