Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)

Hi Everyone....well, after much contemplation, anxiety, reading, talking, worrying, and everything else that goes into a decision this big, I'm scheduled for my first ECT tomorrow morning.

Hi Everyone....I may have asked this before, but I'm considering ECT and I'd like to hear from anyone who's had experience with it. I'm really scared and feeling a sense of urgency to make a decision. I saw a doc on Tuesday who thinks I'm a candidate, but will have a second opinion today.

I've read some good things, but a whole lot of negative things about ECT....and you know what? I'M JUST REALLY SCARED. My husband is usually wanting me to try whatever will help, but with this he's been on the fence like me. But this morning his feeling is "no."

hypoakinesis, EF 50% ect. also what is safe to take for very loose stools. thanks

Recently I had a ECT at my yearly physical and it was abnormal. The ECT I had in 2019 was normal. I had a heart ultrasound which shows that I have left bundle branch block and a ef of 40%. Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be caused by Imbruvica? I am not on any other medication.

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone here has had treatment resistant psychosis and has had to take clozapine or have ect treatment? I'm still struggling with a couple of delusions and was hoping to hear some success stories from others.

What is everyone’s experience with this and any tips for aftercare ect is appreciated.

Told psychosomatic, ect. Seen by another G.p by chance. Taken seriously. B12 was tested !! In hospital! Subacute combined degeneration of the cord mentioned . Referral to neurologist mentioned Still thd diagnosis was; Hysteria Inversion syndrome . Obviously the script writers reading 📚

I was diagnosed with psa 6 months ago .due to scalp psoriasis and swollen toes fingers knee pain ect .does any one else suffer from sacrolitis with there's and there spine neck my hips are so painful should I ask my rheumatology doctor other questions .does this happen with psa .he said my mri showed

Have started ECT, with 3 sessions (last on June 3, 2024) and resuming tomorrow. No effective results yet.

I found that ECT/shock therapy, is the only thing that helps. So I started about a month ago feeling better and the depression was lifting. So I changed my ECT to every other week and it was going well, however this last week I felt the depression creeping in.

If anybody out there has any suggestions,name of a good consultant even private Ect Ect I would be forever in your debt. I’m soooo desperate.

Did you buggy for a bit or walk a few holes ect. Cheers

My last app he told me coil wouldn't be any good for me cos my mental health and my adenomyosis as my womb is bulky ect ect. And he didn't see point if I'm on double does of pop. He's also stated I refused a transvaginal scan... I never it wasn't even offered my mum was in the appointment with me?

If I press on the areas I had the surgery it still really hurts, the wounds are all healed outside and I haven’t got any temperature or vomiting ect so no infection.

Now i just had a new eye test as im getting double vission and have to take a break to refocuse on the tast in hand reading ect and also now getting catteracs .I am sorry for bad spelling but stroke last year has left me with nurological disease and disariea.

Hi everybody, I’ve just been told that I should now start ocaliva aswell as urso I’m so worried about side effects after reading up on it, wondering how many of youse are getting on with it did you have lots of side effects ect!!

I have tried to find out on google ect what this actually means, and i cannot come across anything that explains this. Can someone please enlighten me as to what the phrase is actually spelling out, in plain english? Your help/input would be much appreciated. Many thanks
