Anxiety and Heart palpitations

Hello! I'm 21 years old and I'm very anxious.

I had always been an athlete until my 18 years, when after a run i felt heart palpitations. Then I stoped.

I used to be very scary when i had an extrasystole but with time i learned how to control myself beacause i had once in a while.

But now my problem is different. I'm feeling a lot of extrasystoles followed.

I feel the hart beat inside, he's slow and he's uncontrolled. I feel everything! One heart beat, a pause of 3 seconds, another heart beat, and always like this. The heart beats are strong, it's like a trembling muscle but on inside and this muscle is my heart!

When I go to the hospital my heart is already calm and the doctors never see anything...

Does anyone else feels the same?

Vanessa,Have you been diagnosed with heart disease? I dont understand the word systoles. What is that?

I am sorry you have to hear your own heart beat like that. It happens to me sometimes when I am trying to sleep. Its very stressful.

Can u tell us some more?

Hi, an extrasystole (extra sístole in portuguese) is when one heart beat fails and the next heart beat is strong... Well I use to have them but they are not dangerous when happens once in a while, but sometimes I feel a lot of them followed and it's like I'm having an attackt...

It's slow, painful, scary... I'm really afraid...

I have an "arritmia sinusal" but not dangerous, it's conected with the breath... But i never had been diagnosed with something dangerous.

What do you have? And what more do you use to feel?

Yes!

But "a lot" of them, like 10 followed, slowly and hurts a little bit...

I worked in a hospital when I was 25 -32. During those days I had many skipped beats. One day it was so many It felt like a tiny pony was in my chest kicking me to get out. I went to the cardiac unit for advise. They put me on a monitor and I was in TriGeminy. I was 27 and all of the doctors stopped and looked at the monitor of the woman with that rhythm. An old time doctor saw that I was a young woman instead of an old woman or man and he said, give her Inderal and a hot cup of sweet tea and she will be fine..........It is how my nervous system responds.....I am wired to have my heart skip when I become very scared. It still goes on in these days when I have a fright, either in reality or in my mind ( or if my gut is sick) ........and I am many years older than 27!!!!

What does the doctor say about your heart pain? Do u have medicine? Does he know you are in pain?

I suffer from anxiety and depression mostly due to my IBS CONDITION. ITS AN INTESTINAL PROBLEM THAT CAN BE TRIGGERED BY ANXIETY. ITS A CATCH 22. My IBS Triggers anxiety and my anxiety triggers my IBS. There is no cure for IBS. YOU JUST have to manage it,like anxiety.

From what I gather everyones heart skips and flutters its just some of us have the misfortune to feel it.

Mine feel like a big thud, stop and restart usually in the throat.

Mine is similar. I cant take a beta blocker because it makes it worse. Seems to act up when my heart rate is slower.

You know when your finger starts to trembling? I feel that on my heart, followed beats... And he was slow... And the beats hurt a little bit but not in the chest... the hurt inside the chest, i don't know if it's correct, but a "pain in the heart"... You also feel that? 2 hours later I went to the hospital and the ECG was fine... But at the moment, nothing was fine, it seems a collapse..

Well I take propranolol every morning... and I still feel that stuffs

it is fairly normal. In woman it can be hormone related and or GUT related. I have suffered from extra beats since I was 12. Inderal works very well.

Do you feel them like 10 followed? You can feel your heartbeat inside? every muscle..? Sometimes i can feel that. And scares me a lot...
