Anxiety and fast heart beat
Hi ks
Sounds like heart palpitation's which anxiety can cause especially as they seem to happen in certain situations , lots of members suffer from this
They can be quite frightening but when the body feels fear it starts the adrenaline going round our bodies which can then cause these palpitations
Have you been & seen your GP this will reassure you & I am sure more members will answer as they will relate to you

Hi
Why why's already on the ball with this one.
I get a fast heart rate quite often..the fastness doesn't scare me it's the fluttering that does and then the adrenaline kicks in and it's a vicious circle.
Try going to the docs to rule out anything sinister

Thank you both Are there any meds that help in these situations
Obviously I'm not a doctor but they may prescribe a beta blocker which I've had and did work to slow my heart rate...but I'm a big scaredy cat and didn't continue taking them.

I get this quite a lot & I go somewhere quiet & do my breathing exercises. In through my nose counting to 4 hold it for 2 seconds then out through your mouth counting to 6 then hold it for 2 second again. Nice & slow & controlled. Hope this helps it does for me. Take care.
Thanks
Try some mindfulness based stress reduction techniques e.g. Focus on breathing -notice the thoughts making you anxious but don't react to them
