I’ve been slowly reducing my Zoloft as the plan is to get off of it by years end. I’ve been reducing by 12.5 mg every couple months. I’ve noticed that even with that small amount, I’m experiencing heightened anxiety about a week after the reductions. My fear is that it’s a relapse but my therapist encourages me to look at it as anxiety over the reduction. Anyone else experience this while weaning down on the meds?

That’s a really nice slow taper.. however it makes sense that your anxiety is a bit worse with each time you go down. I have been on and off Zoloft for 20 years. Now at max of 200 but last year only took 25. Hopefully the pros outweigh the cons of you getting of this med. keep up the hard work!!
Thank you for the response! I’ve been frustrated with weight gain and feelings of just not being like myself. In a weird way I want to see if I function without it? If along the way I feel like I’m relapsing my plan is to stay where I’m at!!
I started Zoloft just over a week ago and took my first 100 mg this morning . I def can feel a difference in my anxiety . I drove all the way to Melb yesterday , through the city and a big tunnel. That’s massive for me .
It took about five months for my appetite to return to normal. I had lost about 20 pounds after my hysterectomy. Now I have a hard time stopping myself from eating!
The disconnect feeling has been a common symptom for me from the beginning. Whether it’s anxiety or the Zoloft remains a mystery. I don’t feel like myself- it’s as if I’m not in my own skin at times. I also feel pretty restless on Zoloft. An inability to relax and/or sit still...
