Daily i feel like my brain (and to some extent my body) is just in a dizzy trance sensation (i'm not dizzy as in falling over dizzy) but just a drowsy trance state (im not on any meds).....my head feels physically heavy at times too.
Pleased to hear if any one knows what i'm on about ? its never painful, just weird / uncomfortable and frequent.
Thank you

hi thanks reply, do you actually have exactly the same, like a whoosh of odd dizzy trance ? as its really stressing me and adding to my health anxiety so much i feel like i'm slowly loosing control !
Yes I do, when I stand up from sitting down it’s horrible. It’s hard to describe but I think you you’ve described it well. And my head feels heavy and blocked up.
Could it be a blood pressure issue if related to sudden standing up?
Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is a persistent drop in blood pressure that occurs upon moving from sitting to standing or from lying down to sitting up or standing.
Thanks - for me not sure if OH not heard of this before but when I was in hospital I was having BP taken about 3 times a day and all readings were fine then.
I have had 3 brain MRI scans over the past 10 years (due on/off weird dizziness etc but now its got more frequent), the last was about 6 months ago which Doc said doesn't show anything relating to my symptoms. A previous scan to that I was told it just showed "several scattered high T2 signal foci noted in white matter which little high for my age"...but again not relating to dizziness (think this relates more to cardiovascular which doc wasn't concerned about)...so had tests but as ever with health anxiety when the symptoms are so strong / regular / real....its hard to believe its just anxiety...and so the viscous circle carry's on like groundhog day.....
Bobbyabby, reading your post today re MRI scans maybe my below reply will help too, so yes i had brain MRI's (and spine) done in past due dizzy head etc and nothing showed to be causing such symptoms....initially after getting the all clear from scan the symptoms went but now have come back more frequent than ever....
I heard about this syndrome after I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 10 years ago.
I have not noticed it but my neurologist tests me every visit. He has me stand up quickly from a chair. Some people get dizzy or light headed as too much blood moves suddenly from upper to lower body.
Not sure why linked with PD, might just an old age thing, or a physics thing.
Same exact thing here! Dizzy like a spinning or vibrating feel in my head and its often very heavy! How long have you had this happening? You feel a little off balance?
Sorry i did reply earlier but it wouldn’t send but now back up and running ! It’s more like my brain is spinning rather than the room spinning if that makes sense but for sure i have the heavy feel (heavy as in it weighs so much ! ) I had on/off for a year but got worse last few weeks - another way of explaining it is pins and needles in my brain !! Tonight I tried a meditation class - I feel this will help my anxiety as it does make sense what they said - worth a try !
I hope the meditation class helps! But yes its like a spinning in your brain not the world spinning its pretty scary. I think you will be ok though. Since youve had scans and stuff. I had obe too that showed nothing wrong! So now I'm taking Sertraline to see about calming my anxiety. But this heavy head feeling is terrible
I was on Sertraline some years back for some time but then slowly come off them as was feeling better. Not against meds at all but trying to not go back on just yet and instead I want to try some kind of mindfulness (and meditation). The heavy head I was told before by a osteopath could be due to the stress and tension we carry in our necks and sometimes even bad posture - maybe if you try a reiki massage or similar may help the head and release tension ?
I have been going through something similar I think. On new years eve, I had a massive panic attack and had that sort of hangover feeling after it was over (not sure if anyone else knows what I mean) where my head felt heavy and i felt a little more exhausted. The next morning I noticed the feeling still there. It isn't like I am off balance or falling over, but when I walk around or turn corners in my house or bend over/lean to a side I can feel this sort of heaviness in my head. and when I am extra tired, it seems to be a little worse. On the weekends I have found myself wanting to just lay around or sleep extra because when I am sitting or laying down I can't really feel it. I have had this before but for only days at a time and then it suddenly goes away. This time, I have had it for basically 4 weeks and the last few days it actually has started to go away. It is very worrying and irritating, but if you have been checked out by doctors and nothing physically is wrong, that is a plus for sure. The only things I can think of to help are to get good nights sleep each night and let the warm water in the shower hit your scalp and neck, and be sure to keep your neck loose by doing neck rolls here and there. Wish I could give you more. If anyone else has any other remedies please let us know. I know what you are going through and it is very stressful indeed. I hope you are doing ok!
Thanks for much for the reply - i kind of get the hangover explanation, that’s a good way of describing it - it’s been so long since I had a good drink I not thought of that feeling ! I guess if I can be positive and logical for a second (which not easy !) I can see we all have same/similar symptoms more or less and we are all here on the same forum so it kind of means deep down maybe I can believe it is anxiety ? .... it’s just hard at times to accept its that rather than something else. I tried meditation tonight and although first one I feel it may help me. It’s time I need to fight this once and for all (I hope ). I wish you well.
it helps to know you aren't alone, for sure. We are all here for each other. at the same time, I totally understand your frustration. Doing all you can and still it lingers is disheartening at times. YOu just need to keep doing all you can to take care of yourself and hope the results will come. meditation should help a bit, i have heard good things about it. my mom also has GAD and was doing accupunture for a bit too and swore by it. I cant say I ever tried it, needles scare me haha. Recently I started CBD oil for stress/anxiety/overall wellness. i will have to report back to you all on that, as I think you need to take it for a little while before you feel any effects. We've all been through our share of shit, but try your best to stay positive! let us know how meditation goes if you keep it up!
Yes it is hard to believe it’s anxiety. Especially when your in the middle of strange attacks or sensations. I must try meditation but I find it difficult to concentrate. Cheers
I feel like mine is like a fuzzy feeling In my head, some time I feel like I'm walking to the right. At night I get fuzzy in my eyes too I can see just feel wiered.
It’s started Dec 2017, lasted 4-5 months then completely went until Nov 2018 and since then it’s more intense but still each wave lasts only about 2 seconds - this can happened hourly but never constant. Just comes and goes quick. It’s never really painful just not very nice and odd ! How often for you ?
