Yes. Most people just don’t understand if they haven’t experienced it themselves. My mom always tells me to drink a cup of tea and I’ll feel better. If only it were that easy!
Yeah it's frustrating. I hate being told that I worry too much and just relax there's nothing to be worried about. Do they really think we can prevent this or keep from having anxiety?
The non sufferers are the lucky ones as they just don't get it
Truth be told. I never want to wish harm on anyone. But it can get rather frustrating and you experience the feeling of hopelessness when those around you truly don't understand. They're under the assumption that this is something that can be brushed off and can easily be moved on from.
I wish it was that easy. That'd be awesome if that was the case. People just don't get that this is everyday for us from the moment we get up till the moment we lie down to sleep.
I agree. I get that alot from people who don't know what anxiety is. They have no idea what it feels like and they can be clueless about the fact that it actually gives physical symptoms.
Yes! Haha what gets me more is when people think you are intentionally acting anxious just to annoy them and piss them off. Which happens to be what I battle in most of my relationships with friends and family. I try to tell them hey if you think my mental health disorder pisses you off then think of how it makes me feel.
Yeah my favorite thing to deal with is feeling dizzy or having migraine headaches that hang around for days. Or maybe amazingly fun chest pains or all the random numbness. Yes people seriously don’t get it. There is a reason I’ve been to the er 3 times and “nothing” is wrong with me. Anxiety seriously blows and it completely screws up your life.
I once got, "What do you have to be anxious about?", from someone in my circle of friends. With friends like that, who needs enemies?
I'm always amazed at the level of insensitivity from some people.
they are indeed ,and treat it as in ordinary anxiety,I have only just experienced the worst of it over the past year andDr CLAire weekes book has certainly helped understand.
