I don't know if I am tripping myself out, but I get head spins only when I am thinking about getting them. Because I am scared of the one time I randomly got one. Last night I lied down with my head to the right and I felt like I was spinning. In between, I just feel off-balance all day. But at the same time, I am thinking and worried about being dizzy and off balance constantly. I don't know if this is a coincidence.
The doctor prescribed me Serc which was given to me last time I complained of constant vertigo, to which I went to an ENT, Cardiologist, blood work (no MRI) and everything was fine. That was six years ago. My family doctor said "severe anxiety...
Does anyone else get head spins with anxiety while lying down? Would I know if I had a tumor or MS? I am so worried about I being more.
I know dizziness is a symptom of anxiety but is a spinning sensation a symptom?

The ENT I Saw six years ago did not say that I had Ménière's disease. in fact he said I was negative for that unless that has changed now. I also got a hearing test recently completed that was normal.
I think you need to see a different ENT, or see a chiropractor who can work on vertigo. You may truly have an inner ear problem that needs some treatment!
An obvious thing but could it be low blood pressure which can have that effect? But when you say that except for once it is only when you're thinking of them you get the spins, that seems to indicate anxiety. This is where a short course of valium would be helpful, if the spins disappeared you'd know it was anxiety.
My blood pressure is ok 110. Blood normal except hemoglobin a little low at 114 but nothing major. Sometimes the spins even happen when I am on the phone or looking down ... then I feel off balance and a sense of de-realization all day. It's all I can think about which is either causing the symptoms or making them drastically worse .. would I know if it was a tumor or minieres? I have no idea ringing or nausea ... I can function. The spinning is literally for 5 seconds then I deep breathe or sit in another position and it goes away
As gioletgenie also says, a few days on valium and then judge if there is any improvement would be the best test of all. Why not ask your doctor to prescribe a few and explain why.
Don't think so, but what about your sinuses? Did the doctor look in your nose? What about Sudafed have you tried that to see if the pressure / dizziness subsides? You could have a really deep sinus infection that's not going away.
Yes, I've been getting this for years and years. Problem is....I'm so obsessed with it because I feel it so strongly, I'm almost home bound. Klonopin takes the feeling away so I know in my heart it's anxiwty related.....but my brain is on full sensitization mode all day every day. I hate the feeling but yes, it feels like I'm walking in a fun house, lightheaded, tight ears, dizzy when I move eyes sometimes. I don't know what to do next. I've tried so many meds, MRI, all tests and heart is normal accept benign PVCS. My obsession of this feeling just can't be helped. I've tried meditation, deep breathing and therapy. It sux
So I am actually feeling better with serf. The off balance feeling has lessened. Does this mean I have bppv or could it just mean stress and anxiety Has caused my inner ear to become extremely sensitive
Hi Sacolucci, What you're getting sounds the same that I used to get from time to time due to excess stress/anxiety. At times it lasted for months on end.I too worried about brain tumours etc. by doing so, only made the 'dizziness' worse, eventually I had Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and it worked.I can recommend it providing you have been checked by your GP for any other cause. I also got a dizzy feeling whenever trying to relax, also lying back in the dentists chair,or hairdressers etc. I had been having this symptom of anxiety for over 20 years. I finally stopped fearing it and now it leaves me alone! Wishing you well!
I went to get a ct scan last night and it was normal. Blood is normal. Doctor recommending me to neurologist for migraine issue and ent for ear issue. I had this about 6 years ago and and the ent ruled out menieres. I doubt I have menieres now. My hearing test is perfect. It's usually comes on after stress.
If your Dr. is satisfied that it is anxiety/stress, perhaps he would refer you to a counsellor. I can certainly recommend it,he/she would teach you how to deal with it. With practice you can overcome this awful feeling. Hope you resolve it soon anyhow. Good luck! xx
Im wondering if you could have slight vertigo ive had it a few times through my anxiety and depression if your tests have come back normal i wouldnt worry honey but having anxiety myself i do know thats easier said than done.stress can cause alsorts of unwanted feelings.
I can relate... I'm always trying to figure out if it's blood sugar levels, blood pressure, anxiety, or ear/sinus issues. Right now it's allergy season and I'm constantly get waves of dizziness and head rushes. Taking a decongestant seems to alleviate the problem so I'm chalking mine up to sinus congestion. Try clearing your head to see if it improves. If not, you could legitimately have labrynthitis, an inner ear infection. I've had that 3 times in my life.... it's just horrible.

It is for me to and the more I worry the worse they seem. I try focusing on other things like having someone talk to me about anything at all. There is a app that's free called Calm and it has different sounds and I listen to the falling rain. Prop your pillows up a little when you lay down I do that too. I also have had the vertigo and off balance spinning while standing and walking, mine has a lot to do with my thoughts and anxiety. I know it's hard but find something like meditation or adult coloring books anything to help divert your thoughts.
