Hi Chrispal07, he was one of the men on our forum. His videos are right on
target. He suffered from anxiety as well. x
Hey yeah his videos are amazing but he leans towards the no meds approach and I am so close to starting my zoloft, everyday I try to man up and take it bc it’s crippling me!
Chrispal07, We do what we have to. There is a time where life becomes so unbearable and so crippling that we need to reach out for that crutch. Whether for a little while or long term depending on your doctor. While on medication, it's always still a good idea to try some of the approaches Anxiety Guy suggests. There's just not one magic key. Sometimes it's take numerous aids in getting us to where we can function. Good Luck with Zoloft. x
Yes I would definitely still watch his videos.. the one in one sessions are kind of expensive bc I would do those too.. I hope I gain the courage to take them
Hello Chris, for me taking meds enabled me to better function with anxiety but I still required therapy and educating myself about anxiety disorder to recover. We're all slightly different as far as brain chemistry so what works for someone might be different for what works for you. I have found that meds alone did not eliminate the anxiety for most people and a combination of meds and therapy was required to recover. Once you recover, you can taper off the meds if you want and when it is appropriate.
If you don’t mind me asking what kind of meds and did you have side affects? I’m so scared to start
There are a TON of people here who understand exactly how you are feeling.
WE have all felt exactly like you do right now.
WE either take the pill or we don't ,
but we have learned NOT to ruminate about taking it.
We make the best choice we can for our self
...............now........
write down every single thing you are scared of. Then look at the list.
Then decide if you will take the pill now, or not.
BUT it is YOUR choice. Once that choice is made, its done and over.
(either way go do something fun, or for somebody else, or go to your local animal shelter and pet the poor abandoned dogs.)
Get out of your head and away from the screen. Turn off your smart phone for 3 hours and go face to face with other people or animals.
You will get your answer.

Hello Chris, here is a link to a good article about taking meds:
I only took the meds (Citalopram 10mg) for a couple of months and it a) gave my nerves a chance to relax/rebuild a bit and b) broke the mental cycle of immediately assuming I was going to die every time I had the smallest sensation. I didn't like the meds but tried them as a last resort. They were making me super drowsy and lightheaded (or so I thought - it may not have been the meds doing that at all) so I weaned off them by dropping to 5mg and eventually 0. I've only had 1-2 mild panic attacks in the 4 months since. I was getting panic attacks almost daily for the year preceding the medication. I guess you could say it worked, though it didn't work as it was designed to.
