Especially, since I suffer from numerous maladies, myself! You name it. I have it! Well...almost. ππ
I fight my mental illness in a number of ways...medications being the LEAST way!
My #1 weapon is...laughter. Or, moreso...making OTHERS laugh! I'm a horrible practical joker! Better have your "head on a swivel" when I'm around. π
Don't get me wrong...I have my moments of feeling SOOOO LONELY! Even in a room filled with people.
Yeah...my issues are: depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder and SEVERE Claustrophobia! Which comes with Complete INABILITY to be in a dark space, even if it's an auditorium!! Cannot handle the TOTAL DARKNESS!!!! OR...being tied down. God forbid I ever get arrested, handcuffed (behind the back) and locked in a back seat!!!!!! Just writing that made me sweat! ππππ
So, whatever it is you might be suffering from...I hope I can see your post and wright something to brighten your day!
I'm so happy...& sad...& scared...to be here!
Hahaha.....

You know, one can become quite depressed, even if they don't suffer from the, "whacko virus," as my PRECIOUS wife of 35 years, and I like to call it...just by watching the news on TV!
Basically, we all hear negativity...ALL DAY LONG!!! Either people are fearing, "Doomsday," or worrying about the "terrorists" coming in and slimging suicide bombers into all of our neighborhoods!! It's a Chaotic Mess!!
So, listen up, everyone....you will go when it is YOUR TIME...TO GO! And...not a second sooner.
I'm not great with P.C., never have been. But, PLEASE understand...I would NEVER harm one person's feelings PERIOD!!!!!!! At least...NOT ON PURPOSE!
Thank you but i've spoken to hundreds of people on the phone and see a psychiatrist and psychologist every week. All very kind and empathetic, but unfortunately no one seems able to help.
Sorry to sound ungrateful but do you have any experience/ expertise on this subject that may be different to what I have already done?
Goldfish. You can help yourself by reading Self Help For Your Nerves by Dr Claire Weekes. This book will tell you how and why you feel and think the way you do and more importantly, how to recover. My recovery from anxiety started when I read that book and I've posted numerous messages on this website reiterating the same information. If you don't do anything else today, buy/borrow that book. It will be the best thing you ever did.
Think her teachings are also available on CD. Her teachings will cure any fear based disorder I.e. Panic attacks, agoraphobia, OCD, anxiety, depression ( Dr Weekes calls it depletion) etc etc.
Hey "GOLD." So sorry for delayed response. Schedule VERY "crazy" lately.
To answer your question, unfortunately, the answer is, no. There's nothing "special" about me. However, I've found that, sometimes, the BEST therapist is someone who has TRULY been where you are.
At 1 point in my life, about 15 years ago, I came a HAIR....from losing my wife, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!! Our 16 year old daughter had left home and was living in squalor, with some heavy drug abusers, she was severely addicted to crack!
I grew up, having been molested by numerous uncles/older cousins. When I got really depressed all of those things emerged to the middle of my thoughts.
Life seemed UNBEARABLE!!! I JUST WANTED TO DIE!!!!
There is much more, but not for open forum. Maybe, you and I could connect on some level and I could bring you some relief. You know...knowing that YOU.........are NOT...alone!
Thanks, but your story seems very different from mine. I know I'm not alone, but that's not the problem.
Quite a nice quote on Death in Paradise to last night. "Which one wins...the one who puts all their effort into angry revenge or the one who goes for love and forgiveness? The answer is whichever one is fed the most"
The one thing about having the "wacko virus," is you never know what each day will bring. Some good..........some not so good. For me, Friday, was...not so good.
But, I'm still hanging in there!! ππππππ
