I had a panic attack over getting stuff ready for school. Ever since ive bad heartburn off and on. Rn my chest hurts, feels like a mix of a heartburn and what feels like a heart attack. Could this all be my anxiety acting bad because of the first day back to school tomorrow?

Yes, it's anxiety. I often feel like I have heart burn and I always seem to apply pressure in my chest to make it stop, it doesn't. It's anxiety because it goes away for a while and comes back. I'm also anxious about school staring because I have to be away from home for so long (7am-6pm). I'm not starting school until next month and I'm already anxious. Don't want to think of how I would feel when the day comes. Good luck at school tomorrow. Wish you the best!

Anxiety can cause chest pains, which is not the same as having a heart attack. You need to try to relax and settle yourself down. Try taking a nice warm bath, with Epsom salts. Breathing exercises help, too. I have posted how to do them on other posts, but for you, I will say them again.

Close your mouth. Take a long, slow deep breathe in through your nose, to the count of six. Hold for 2 seconds. Purse your lips. release the air slowly, to the count of six. Resist the urge to breathe faster. Repeat until your body feels more relaxed.

It is so common to get the back to school jitters. You are not alone in feeling this way. I think it has something to do with not knowing what to expect. After the first few days you will be more familiar with what to expect.

Be sure to get to bed early, so you can get up early, and feel more like going. A good healthy breakfast helps, too. :)

One of the tricks that I learned to stop anxiety (been struggling for almost 2 years) was to wear a rubber band in your hand. So I get anxiety attack when I go to work so what I do is I wear a rubber band and snap it on my wrist whenever I feel like I’m getting anxious, so that way my mind will divert on the pain of my wrist (its not that painful).
