Does anyone else have pain in the upper abdomen, where the esophagus meets the tummy. It isn't a sharp pain, more of uncomfortable feeling. I have some hectic heartburn too. It is normally my left rib that pains but today I have that uncomfortable feeling.
I have attached an illustration of where I have that feeling.

Hi Nathsam, yes it does.
So you've had it yourself? If so, any advice on what I can do to get rid of this feeling? I take homeopathic meds only, my check up is next week.

I have to be OK, have a very busy 4 year old and house hold chores to see to now.

Thanks for asking though. Hope you're having a good day today?

Bless ya yh I'm good and I'm still waiting on tests for lots of stuff, I've put it down to food that no longer agrees with me like pasta and bread
I get this a lot, I've been told it's acid reflux and it is really painful! I began getting this under a period of stress in the midle of last year that triggered my anxiety off again (starting therapy for that this week). I was given lansoprazole but I don't like the side effects that had on me. However I've just found that slippery elm bark capsules are a very effective and side effect free alternative. I still have silent reflux (throat clearing, dry cough, burping) though, and certain foods (for me raw onions and chilli flakes) make it worse.
Do go along to see your Dr if the symptoms don't go away though, and keep an eye on what food might be triggering it off and if you smoke / drink try cutting down or quitting (guilty of both, I do notice it's worse if I've not been strict with myself!) Bad posture can be a culprit too as well as anxiety!
Hope you feel better soon

Thank so much. Hate the idea of a doctor though but what can I do

Me too! Since the anxiety started again though I've been in and out as it's playing out in health fears. I get wound up and scared something is awfully wrong. Getting reassurance that you are healthy does help though. Hoping my therapy will help settle me down a bit. Acid reflux is one thing, but every strange feeling or pain I get scares the hell out of me at the moment. My Dr told me that I have to find anything to help me let go of the anxiety so I stop feeling this way. I refuse Meds for it though, they aren't the answer for why I'm troubled right now.

I so agree with everything you said, Colani. Even though I get reassurance from Doctors that everything is fine (except for anxiety of course), I still have anxious thoughts about my health; brain tumor when I have a head ache, or that I may get a heart attack or that I may have cancer and as we all know this doesn't help the anxiety much.
I do not take over the counter or prescribed meds, I only use Homeopath meds, which helps with the heart populations and dizziness and mostly everything but then I get that occasional pain here and there and everywhere. Everyday a new pain somewhere.

This is EXACTLY the same thing as I feel! Every day I think I have some awful disease, cancer, MS etc.. or that I'm about to have a heart attack (went to a&e three times about that). It is exhausting and I'm so tired of it. I had one session of CBT, but the therapist realised that route was not going to help. Tomorrow I start interpersonal therapy, fingers x'd it will help me get out of this horrid state.. I hate it! I know when it started, but I don't understand why it triggered anxiety.. everything in my life is going well and I've got nothing to actually worry so much about.

Exactly. No need to worry about stuff but still I worry. The second opinion GP told me, out of good faith, that I can see 50 other GP's and 50 other Physicians but if I don't get my head right, I won't feel better.
Good luck with your therapy. Do share how it went?

Hello, I hope you are feeling better today?
The therapy was OK, but as it was just the first session I was explaining my health anxiety and venting about the situation that triggered it all off. Then I ran out of time and have to wait for my next session to start making any progress. It was good to say out loud some of the things that have been going around my head in the last few months.. I hope it does help me get back to my usual self in the end 😊

You sound so relieved. That's nice.
I'm kind of ok today. Better than yesterday. I take one day at a time.
Glad to hear your therapy was good and pity that you had so little time.
yes! I have been dealing with this for a year. I just had an upper endoscopy done to rule out celiac and H.pylori - i don't have either. Instead they said i have a super inflamed stomach and upper intestine right now. I don't drink a ton, don't smoke, and don't have a TON of acidic food - however, i do have coffee daily on an empty stomach and i am always stressed out - both which can make it worse. They prescribed me 2 months of a PPI. I'm a bit frustrated in some way they jump right to medicine instead of helping figure out the root cause, but it has affected my daily life and i just need to see if this works right now, for now.
Do you have celiac or autoimmune diseases in your family? If so, you could consider getting a blood celiac panel done. If that is negative, you could always test for the gene and/or do an upper endoscopy to see if anything else is going on in there.
FYI i did also have some occasional gas, bloating, burping, constipation, possible reflux too - so i guess it all works together.
Hi lifeisworthliving, this does sound like acid reflux or dyspepsia. A common cause of it is a bacteria called h. Pylori. If you see your doctor about it, there is a simple test they can do to see if you have it. It can be cleared up with anti biotics.
Hi DylanD, the pain in that area is not as bad now. I still had heartburn yesterday and I still have a dull pain on my right rib though, sometimes I feel the pain on top of the rib area and sometimes at the bottom.
Hi Hidden ....my nausea was actually calm last night - I'm hoping for a FEW nights in a row. Even though I'm on meds for acid reduction I seem to be clearing my throat more often than usual. Odd. And interesting - last year I had unexplained pain in a right side rib! Took months to calm down. They found nothing on x-rays.
Hi DylanD, last night again I had a little nausea and lightheadedness, so I just went to bed rather. I'm currently taking pain killers which I don't really want to do, for the pain in my rib, it;'s on the front, side of my body and at the back.
Doctor's appointment is tomorrow. Please hold thumbs for me. It's a complete new doctor, so I'm quite nervous about the fact that it's a new doctor and obviously anxious about the pain
Stay well, I'll hope with you for those few nights..
