Hello all,

Just try to brush it off and forget about it . it happens to me all the time and after months of going to different doctors the all said the same thing I had a peace of mind and doesn't worry about it anymore
Yes, I get them out the blue. It also depends on what you eat. Caffeine and sugar can bring it on. I get flutters all day sometimes, sometimes I wonder if it really is that and how can it last sooo long
I've had really bad and prolonged bouts of palpitations for about 2 weeks. It was a combination of really hot weather we're having here this summer, lack of water, lots of late nights (Xmas and new year) plus I ate ham just about every day. Now the last point for me is relevant as I don't have much salt in my diet so to eat this incredibly salty food every day (one day was breakfast lunch and dinner!!) meant that my body was sucking out potassium in an effort to balance the sodium from the excess salt I ate. As a result my potassium levels have dropped and my heart is doing flip flops in my chest. How to rectify? Stop eating salty foods and eat lots of bananas and potassium rich foods and have a potassium supplement. They are getting fewer and fewer now so I just need to keep up the water intake, reduce salt and get heaps of sleep.
That's a really good reply. I'm sitting here with palpitations. I have been told it's also because we are extremely aware of our heart beat! I also feel my heart in my throat sometimes. I've beensick and I've been on an antibiotic for a few days..I'm wondering if this is the cause??
I used to get palpitations frequently until I got off of regular coffee. That stopped them completely. Now I drink decaf coffee without any problem. Hope this helps.
It has happened to me a few times recently. I know it's hard to ignore but lately I've kept myself busy by moving around while watching tv. Most times just crocheting helps. If you don't know how to crochet, try coloring maybe? Something to distract the "motor" part of your body.
