Tired legs 100

My legs, particularly tights and knees feel like they are rusty 100 years old at least with dull ache!

Walking from downstairs to upstairs in my house makes them feel 200 years old!

Similar feeling in my upper arms but bearable at the moment!

Had tests for muscle, arthritis, blood, deficiency, MRI brain, CT head...all normal, very happy and grateful!

Anxiety is always present, have a few horrible anxiety urges/attacks every day!

Is it really normal to feel this constant, every single day discomfort/pain/weakness in my limbs, do I need additional tests?

Even gentle massage of my muscle makes them vibrate, is my nervous system really over sensitised or not?

I hope somebody will be able to answer to my post! Bless you all! x

Yes, sometimes is mild feeling but always there, moving, if not arms then legs, awful, .... can you just let it go?, I mean let feel the pain to be there without resisting.... apparently that is the only way to deal with it! Just read blogs from anxietynomore.co.uk and it is very helpful to read how others dealt with anxiety and overcame it eventually!

Ab2009, I feel the same thing daily, sometimes worse than the day before. I have a 2 story house with 12 steps up and 12 steps to the basement. That is my exercise every day. My legs sometimes shake by the time I climb upstairs. thighs, knees, calves and ankles get a workout each and every day.

It is from our muscles being so intensely tight so that when using them they get over exaggerated with tightness causing the pain. I recently went to my rheumatologist who did all the pertinent blood tests which were all clear of any arthritic disorders short of the Fibromyalgia that I've had for many years.

I use hot baths to relax the muscles in my legs instead of a shower and I put my feet up whenever watching tv using a pillow behind the backs of the knees. They can't seem to be stretched out straight or it will cause more distress.

Walking and working out in the water has always helped but haven't done that for the last 5 years and I am feeling the effects of not moving around enough.

Hope this helps some in knowing you are not alone. you can try using some tense and relax methods that start with tensing the facial muscles, hold and then relax as you go through each part of the body that is tense and tight. Good Luck in feeling better x

Thank you so much for your reply which helped me a lot to calm now!

I need to do these small changes you advised! I am afraid of moving a lot as it is worse, trying to do at least 5000 steps every day, from app on my mobile!

Last time I swum, not much at all but limbs become so tired, that was something new to me, now avoiding swimming which is not clever!

Why you are not moving more around, for the same reasons or simply you cannot more than you do!?

Take care x

Two things Id like to say and that was I was in water aerobics (I do not know how to swim) Jumping up and down in the water doing jogging, jumping jacks, stretching and just having a good ole time. Instructor had a different music theme every day playing in the background which motivated you to work out. I went 5-6 days a week, both winter and summer alike. Watching the cold of winter thru the windows as I played in the water. Water therapy is the best even just walking in the water will strengthen the muscles, easier done in water than on land.

I was Agoraphobic for 5 years and since I've gotten over my anxiety, I've been on the forum sitting a lot which isn't good. My Rheumatologist wants me back to my water aerobics again. So maybe it's time for me to pull out my swimsuit and definitely make it a New Year's Resolution :)

Great, water gives a great support so let's do it from tomorrow! 😂 cannot wait until 2018 .... but .... 5-6 days a week, wow, you were so good!

Your rheumatologist is right, we must not stop it, we cannot afford to do a little, moving is a key, every single day!

Update me how are you doing, please! X

So I feel the same way. I tend to be sedentary because my legs hurt so much but know that I need to get moving. How do you get your body to cooperate and move.

I've noticed if I have errands to do, certain household chores to do, I am able to. Make sure you always have shoes on and not slippers or barefoot. The legs need the support of a proper fitting shoe when moving around.

It's a mind over matter thing. I sometimes have to force myself to do things but then feel better emotionally afterwards. Feeling better emotionally, makes physical systems feel less painful.

With anything in life, we don't get better by staying put, we always need to work on going forward and moving. :) x

Hi "keep moving" :) -have you done more today!? I did a lot comparing to nothing from yesterday! I was constantly talking to my mind how I enjoy walking, even up to hill, how exciting is to walk.... sounds silly but worked! I am reading a lot, watching TED talks about rewriting the brain by telling it what it suits me x

Well, willing to try everything! :):):)
