I tell you. Anxiety loves playing tricks on the mind. I keep thinking that the body jerks are a sign of epilepsy and can that be a symptom of anxiety without getting an attack? Or something else? TMI, sorry guys. But I am on my cycle and anxiety been a mess. Trying not to panic at this time.

Hi deannadianex3, I'm from Chicago too. You are a little sweetheart The body jerks can come from anxiety w/o getting an attack. It's due to the over sensitized and stressed nervous system. Try not to panic, it only increased the tenseness of your muscles. You will find if you just try to relax, the muscles will calm down. Enjoy your evening dear. xx
Good Morning my Chicago friend... How are you on this gloomy, rainy Fall day? A good day to either clean closets or work on yourself in feeling better. Unfortunately, our muscles never really get a good chance to completely relax because just as soon as we do, anxiety peeks around the corner again and puts us on alert, tightening those muscles once again.
Stretching always is a good way to unwind to remind your body that this is what calm feels like. Mild exercise can also help but better than that is a hot relaxing bath where both your mind and body can be soothed from stress. Deep breathing while relaxing away your worries is a quick and easy respite.
Address the sites of your body that you carry most stress with heat. I use hot bath towels straight out of the dryer and wrap it around my neck and shoulders. There is an immediate release and calming of the tight muscles. The tense tight shoulders come down away from the ears feeling so great. I also use counting backwards when muscles are overwound. Slowly counting and breathing....from 10 to 0.
I even use the last 10 seconds of the microwave to deep breathe as the numbers click down to 0. So even cooking offers me relaxation. For exceptionally bad days of tight/painful muscles, I pull out my friend Ben Gay (Scent Free) and the warmth it leaves behind helps take away the tight muscle pain.
Enjoying life, laughing, loving and living in the present moment affords us a lot of relief from the chaos around us. Using deep breathing and meditation, imagery all give you this amazing feeling of being "High on Life". It's your "me" time Deanna. Make it a great day xx
Hello deannadianex3, Scented oils can be very soothing in relaxing you. Most massage therapist use scented oils, candles and soft calming music. Another thing I found that works in relaxation are the tableside fountains with subdued lighting and trickling sound of water running over pebbles. Walgreens in Chicago has them for around $10, $5.00 when on sale. Whatever works for you. Wishing you a calm and peaceful day. xx
