Somatization disorder

So I have had my official report back from my psychiatrist appointment.

She has confirmed that I am highly symptomatic of PTSD, anxiety and this somatisation disorder!! This is a new one to me!

Does anyone have experience of this?

Common in Anxiety. We think something is terribly wrong with us when we have physical symptoms of anxiety/depression...we think we are suffering from a horrible disease (not that of mental health but like some rare scary cancer or something). That is what Somatization disorder is. I think we all have it one way or another.

Thank you for explaining that to me, it makes perfect sense now.... yeah it’s not a term Ive heard
