Good Morning Everyone I would like to know if any one experince this
Are you lying on your back? If you are try your side preferably left side (which also helps heart burn). Laying on your back makes your chest muscle lay on top of your heart creating what is called chest thump (what we who experiences call it). The chest muscle twitches when it starts to relax for sleep, because it is laying over our heart it feels like a strange sensation. We cough to create like an air bubble to push the muscle up from resting on the heart for a second. Now us anxiety overloaded with sensories take it as an alert and go into fight mode (oh I'm not dying tonight!) And we wait and our mind recreates that feeling over and over again until we're going app sh**. Turn on your side rock a little if you have to count sing your ABCs whatever to distract you and realize if I can count or sing a song or anything that makes sense and if I was dying my mind would not let me lay her and think, sing songs, count rock. You are in control. This is one of my coping skills and it works every night as I drift off to sleep or redrift off after waking up all anxious. Hope it helps anyone with the nightly chest thump!
From a medical website:
"Irregular heart rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats:
Your heart feels like it skips a beat in your chest. It sometimes may feel like a tickle in your chest that makes you cough. If you take your pulse, you might notice that sometimes the beats are unevenly spaced or seemed 'skipped.'
It might also feel like your heart is 'flip flopping' in your chest, or that it is 'thumping' or 'turning over' in your chest.
When you check your pulse, you might notice your irregular heart beats, or might not. Sometimes the irregular heart beats are so mild, they go undetected.
The irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom can come and go rarely, occur frequently, or persist indefinitely. For example, you may feel irregular heart beats once and a while and not that often, feel them off and on, or feel them all the time.
The irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom may precede, accompany, or follow an escalation of other anxiety sensations and symptoms, or occur by itself.
The irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom can precede, accompany, or follow an episode of nervousness, anxiety, fear, and elevated stress, or occur ‘out of the blue’ and for no apparent reason.
The irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom can range in intensity from slight, to moderate, to severe. It can also come in waves, where it’s strong one moment and eases off the next.
The irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom can change from day to day, and/or from moment to moment.
All of the above combinations and variations are common.
What causes the irregular heart beats anxiety symptom?
Anxiety causes the body to produce the stress response (also known as the fight or flight response). The stress response stresses the body. When the body becomes overly stressed, which we call stress-response hyperstimulation, the body can exhibit a wide variety of odd and unusual sensations and symptoms. The irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom is one of them.
Many people experience irregular heart beats when anxious or stressed.
How to get rid of the irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom?
Becauses this symptom is just a symptom of elevated stress, it needn't be a cause for concern. It will subside when you reduce your stress and give your body ample time to calm down. As your body's stress returns to a more normal level, symptoms of stress subside, including the irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats anxiety symptom. Therefore, this anxiety symptom needn't be a cause for concern.
While irregular heart beats can seem dire and threatening, when they are caused by being anxious and stress, they aren't harmful. Again, many people experience irregular heart beats when stressed or anxious. Doctors generally aren't concerned about them.
Because this symptom involves the heart, it’s best to discuss this symptom with your doctor. If your doctor determines that it is solely stress related (including the stress that being anxious can cause), you can be assured that there isn’t another medical cause for it. Generally, most doctors can easily tell the difference between stress and anxiety caused sensations and symptoms from those caused by other medical reasons."

DO you have low thyroid? I do.
I have felt the - I feel like Im just going to stop breathing and die - thing before. I think that is everyones fear with anxiety
I could have wrote this myself I can relate to it that much. The symptoms feel so real I know its hard to believe there not. Ive asked my docs for blood tests to rule a thyroid problem out though I think this is just wishful thinking on my part. I literally feel like Im going to die every day but like you Im still here! Try reading or listening to hypnotherapy on youtube if you need help sleeping/relaxing
