Need advice!!
Hi tara89, I saw your other post too late and thought you'd be in with the doctor.
Glad you reposted an outcome. I haven't been on Citalopram but like any other SSRI medication they all work the same. It can take 4-6 weeks or so for it to reach full efficacy depending on if the doctor increases the dose during that time. Counseling is a perfect combo with the med. You've taken a step in the right direction. We will all help you through this time. Keep Positive x
Thank you so much for replying it means a lot, i just broke down in there but im so glad I finally went, I'm a bit scared about taking there's tablets but ibkmow I've got to if if want to get better x
I know you are scared to take a tablet. We all are that way. In order to get better, we need to take that leap of faith. When you do take it for the first time, do it when someone else is around or let someone at least know. Write down the name of the drug, the dose and the time next to the bottle.
Take it with plenty of water, have a little something to eat with it and go on with your day. Do not sit there waiting and looking. You will be fine, you will be safe in following your doctor's orders. Let us know when you take the med, we will be here supporting you. x P.S. You can do it tara89...
I was offered them at the height of my troubled mind but I declined them but was still given them Incase I changed my mind. May help you though.
I have been taking 30 NFL of citalopram last four months and they have helped me greatly I had a few side effects like drowsiness and crying episodes but I am mostly functional today because of these pills. My husband and mother take it also and it has helped them as well.
hello Agora, if you can, try taking just 1/4 or 1/2 of the pill first, to see what effects it may have on you. If you're not sure if you can break the pill, call a pharmacist. They know everything about all meds. They are very helpful if you call on the phone and just ask about it, (I've done it many times). I hope this will help you.
