I'm still having a hard time dealing with these supposed somatic symptoms. Brain and cervical MRI came out clear except for a few bulging discs. Trembling, vision problems muscle spasms, frequent urinations.Unfortunately I believe I've been misdiagnosed with anxiety and depression . All my symptoms unfortunately point to multiple sclerosis. Fatigue and concentration problems is getting to the point where I might lose my job. Bloodwork is always fine, except for TSH thyroid levels being borderline lowish. and yes I've been tested for Lyme disease vitamin B and D Rheumatoid factor, and negative for lupus. Don't know how much longer I can take this mental and physical torture.

Hardluck, you're the second person in 24 hours who believes they have MS and that doctors have failed to spot it. It's rather incredible how people without any medical training at all can diagnose things like MS whilst doctors who went to medical school for years, followed by many more years frontline experience, can miss it completely.

No, I don't think so. Trembling, visual disturbances, muscle spasms, frequently passing water, tiredness and problems concentrating are all well known symptoms of anxiety disorder. And you have rightly chosen to discuss this on the Anxiety Forum and not the MS Forum.

If someone near to you needed an operation who would you best trust to perform the surgery: you or someone in the medical profession? Exactly. So I will say to you what I said to the other person who believes they have MS - you can't recover from an illness you don't have. And instead of worrying about an illness you don't have wouldn't it be better to address the illness you do have - anxiety disorder?

So I suggest that for your reassurance you ask your doctor for a second opinion and tell him or her frankly of your concerns. But if the second opinion comes back as 'anxiety disorder' then you accept the decision completely. And without further delay consider your options for relief and recovery. These may include temporary medication to give you immediate relief from your suffering to help you retain your employment. Plus therapy and/or methods of self-help to help your recover your normal peace of mind long term - you will find many of the latter mentioned in book form or online links in other postings on this forum.

Remember, MS is for life but you can recover fully from anxiety disorder with professional help, patience and persistance.

Hardluck, the self help book I consider pre-eminant is 'Self help for your nerves' by Claire Weekes written 50 years ago. She was first to develop the Acceptance Method for recovery from anxiety. Maybe the last thing you feel like doing right now is reading a book but this one is life changing. Look it up on Amazon and read a few of the hundreds of reader reviews, 90% judge it to be Very Good or Excellent. This book has stood the test of time and continues to help thousands to recover each year. You will soon recognise yourself in its pages. Sorry if I've mentioned all this before.
