Jennifer, speak to his doctor and tell him the situation and see if he can help. Who is the person that Enzo will listen to most, a friend, a family member, neighbour, work colleague or maybe you. They could reassure Enzo that all is going to be well, the op will make him well again, he must rouse himself and help himself a little, he must think of his loved ones, repeat everything is going to be alright. Keep repeating positive things like this and persist even if he doesn't respond to begin with. In time it will get through as of course he must be ready for the op in 3 days time.
Read him this message from his friends on Health Unlocked: "Enzo, you're not the first person to get testicular cancer and you won't be the last. But you are going to get a state of the art medical procedure and you're getting it fast and it will put things right. Enzo, you will be no less of a man because of this operation which thousands of others have every week, you show your manliness by how you respond when the going gets tough and we know from your previous posts that you've got guts, you're a brave guy. You're going to be alright, Enzo, so please stop scaring those around you who love you. Everything will go well, we promise. We are all thinking of you, it's all going to be O.K. because you are in such good hands, please trust us."
Oh Jeff you brought a tear to my eye and lump to my throat. What a kind and generous and amazing thing to write. So reassuring. You will be the first person i contact if i find myself having a meltdown.
