Hi everyone just thought I would say hi and tell you a bit about myself. I have suffered from gad for around 12 plus years now. I suffer from daily panic attacks and these especially worse in the morning along with the adrenaline rush which im sure many of you guys can relate to. I also suffer from agoraphobia and am unable to take any anti depressants due to them causing me non epileptic seizures. I am awaiting counselling and also on a waiting list for cbt. Was wondering if anyone manages their anxiety without meds?

my advice to you is limit stimulants (a ton of caffeine, etc) accept and realize that anxiety can make you physically feel symptoms and feel psychosomatic symptoms! (Chest pain, arm, leg, headaches, breathing differently, and the list goes on) but know worrying doesn't save you.. and these symptoms are Anxiety! We can beat it. I know easier said than done but stay positive! Then lastly find the right balance. Try and get enough sleep (I need to work on this, as I post this at 3:30am). Work on a healthy diet, drink water. And take time for yourself l, even if only 20 minutes a day, try meditation or just a walk/exercise.

-be Positive! Anxiety is nothing! We can beat it.

Thanks Jscnie, i have cut all stimulants etc out and sadly doesnt work for me. Im glad its working for you though as we are all different. I guess I need a miracle cure lol but i do agree with the sleep. Getting enough sleep definately helps.

Totally disagree with this . Everyone is different and some things work for some and not for others . Same as meds and weight loss . Everyone is different . It does not matter what I do and believe me I have done every diet , exercise , etc etc . My panic attacks come when they like and my anxiety will hang around as long as it likes . Hate it !!!!

Hi I haven't been able to tolerate anti depressants for the past 3 years, for various reasons. I was hospitalized last year for frequent panic attacks, with a new symptom of feeling like bugs crawling on my skin. The hospital psychiatrist mentioned adrenaline and later after talking to other anxiety sufferers, i learned that feeling was adrenaline running through my nerves. it was so freaky at first though, thought i was having a stroke and called 911. i later thru my own reading concluded i must have adrenal fatigue .. this is not an official medical diagnosis so i basically had to cure it on my own. i still have bad anxiety but was able to calm down the frequency of panic attacks, by even more rest- cleaning less than i already do- i have no other choice. i was breaking down doing dishes and laundry. Magnesium helps- have you tried that? i take a product called Natural Calm, and recommend this. and cutting sugar helps but that's something i struggle with as i'm addicted. stay away from stressful situations obviously, don't get into heated political or other kinds of debates with people. there is a certain kind of breathing i was taught, inhale for count of 3, hold for count of 4 , then exhale for count of 7. praying helps. watching comedies helps- i do like suspense but sometimes if a crime show is too intense that gets my adrenaline going. if worst comes to worst and i cant stop the panic i at least have a benzio that i take occasionally, do you at least have that, that you can take sometimes? i pray for relief for you

Hi reinagrace.I can definately relate to the adrenaline feeling and get it constantly its hard to shake off sometimes isnt it. I was advised to shift body side to side and to shake all limbs just like a runner does as a warm up before a big race to try and shift some of the adrenaline as if you do nothing it just builds up. It does physically drain you and i feel exhausted just going downstairs and getting a drink but know its all down to the anxiety. Watching comedies is a good idea and there are also loads of funny videos on youtube too which also helps. Unfortunately I cant take benzios as they do the opposite to do me and dont calm me down. I have heard of the magnesium calm which i think is the same as natural calm? and read mixed reviews where it made some people more on edge so this put me off but i am tempted to try it maybe start off low dose and increase that way see what I can tolerate.Hope you feel better soon too and thanks for your reply means alot.
