Hi folks. I been on Healthunlocked for quite awhile but on the quit smoking community. Anyhow i suffer with really bad anxiety and depression. Im having some strange symptoms i have a tight feeling under both if my ribs and the lower back also sometimes in my chest. Has anyone else had this?
Wow! Could be anxiety/ panic related signs and symptoms. Most importantly, it could be signs of something more dangerous. Even heart complications or a stroke. That's the thing about anxiety. It can mimic those types of conditions. But, never, ever ignore them or "brush them off" like we sometimes do! Call your physician & let him/ her know how you are feeling when you experience those symptoms. EVERY TIME!! Hope you feel better😄
Stick with it mate, no harm to visit your gp for a check up and take up some moderate excersise, im 5 weeks in, its not plain sailing but its worth it. Taste and smell, hearing has improved too.Im taking effexor daily for anxiety since 2012. Stopping smoking has helped me get out walking my breathing is much better. It's rebuilding my confidence I can walk up fairly steep hills and do a good few kms. Last year that would of been impossible. Sleeping has Improved too. Best to check with ur gp first
Hi, anxiety triggers the fight flight or freeze in us. It comes from the part of the brain which is there to protect us. It may not be rational or based on logic or conscious thought, if you’re going to be hit by a truck you don’t stand there and think about the colour or why it’s heading your way, you move. In order to do this adrenaline floods the body, blood is pulled to the heart and lungs, we get ready for the fight or the run. This rush of adrenaline is useful if there is a truck heading your way, not so much if the brain has gone anxious for no apparent reason. Common symptoms would be upset stomach, bowel and bladder problems, tingling in the arms, racing heart, going pale. What you have felt could be related to stress/anxiety but there may be other reasons so it’s really important to be mindful, and perhaps get checked out. There are breathing exercises you can do which might help, internet is full of them.
Hi folks so i just came back from the doctors. My doctor doesnt seem alarmed by what i have but thinks it could be asthma. I have to go back on the 28th for some tests.
It took my drs 7 years to figure out I had asthma. Seems it’s brought on by dust, the tests my GP did in their surgery, didn’t identify asthma. Wasn’t until I saw a chest specialist he figured it out. What decided it was a simple test to determine what mix I was breathing out (I think that was it) all of the lung function tests only showed my lungs weren’t operating as they should, not the cause. Good luck hope it gets sorted for you.
