  • Johnnie, Oh...cheeseburger and fries sounds good but the last thing you want to do after eating is lying down with a full stomach. The stomach will push against the heart making it skip or speed up. It's the position you are in as well as the anxiety that is with you all day. Your anxiety is just waiting for the next opportunity to scare you. It really doesn't make any difference if you are relaxing or go outside. The thoughts are in your mind and not a physical reason for giving you symptoms. I remember the days when every other sentence from me was "should I go to the ER?" As Jeff 1943 says, we have to accept this is anxiety before it will go away. Try getting up from bed and walking around the house or sit straight up in a chair and start some deep breathing. Another thing, did you have a soda/pop with your meal? Was it caffeinated?

You will be okay, let your food digest and as it does you will start feeling better. Take care

  • yeah i walk around but my heart just be besting fast like if i was running or something mean while i wasnt and i ate cheese burger with fries and water no soda but idk it just scary

  • I know it's scary Johnnie but as long as you have that thought, it will continue to raise the adrenaline in you. Listen to the response that Sunshine wrote, It's true that the heart right now is working to digest the food you just ate.

  • should i take beta blocker or no

  • Did your doctor tell you to take a beta blocker when you feel like this?

  • Yeah only when my heart rate is high but it seeming like its calming down now

  • Oh, I'm glad it's calming down. Hope you enjoy the rest of the evening. You did good.

  • thank you hope you too

  • I would always ask your gp..

    but No I wouldn't think so πŸ˜‰

Your body is just "doing its thing". Try not to worry too much, the cardiologist would have suggested medication if they thought it was necessary πŸ™‚

  • ok your right

  • This might be helpful?

"Heart palpitations after eating can be caused by consuming large meals. Following the consumption of food, the body directs blood flow to the digestive tract in order to assist with digestion. ... This can lead to a faster heart rate (tachycardia) and heart palpitations."

If you've had your heart checked out and everything is fine, I wouldn't worry to much. It's probably just your bodies normal reaction to the circumstance. Most of the time when you have anxiety your more aware of your heart speeding up and slowing down... along with other things happening in your body. Whereas if you didn't have anxiety you probably wouldn't notice your heart speeding up... or give it a second thought πŸ™‚

  • We think alike Sunshine :) But it's true what you say...

  • πŸ™‚

  • Soo its not a heart diease or something right like idk why my heart try to speed up most of the time like i just want this to go away and should i take a betta blocker?

  • I can tell you it happens to me that's why I avoid it when I can . It's because it's all the crap in this crappy food . But sometimes it's easy to grab and eat but god I pay for it after . That's interesting someone else gets this .

  • Also if I have Pkt cup of soup it happens , also Chinese.

  • Yeah your heart be rwcing after eating fast food sometimes ?
