Again?!

Again, here I am worrying about my heart! I have had multiple EKG's, a golfer monitor and even an echocardiogram. If anything was wrong, it would have showed up right? I hate having anxiety problems and being a hypochondriac!😩 Idk why I always focus on my heart either.

Hi Jaymrene, the reason we all focus on the heart symptoms is because the symptoms are similar for heart problems and anxiety. Having had all the tests for your heart should relieve your mind some. However, most anxious people, even though cleared of any health issue by their doctor has a most difficult time in Accepting that. The main cause of the anxiety symptoms of the heart tend to come from hyperventilating. You actually start to breathe in too much oxygen and end up with an overload of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide makes your heart pump faster and gives you that cloudy head feeling, the feeling of doom and tingling in your extremities. Very similar to a heart attack. Is it any wonder we worry about cardio vascular disease??

To turn the symptoms of anxiety around, it is helped by slowing down your breathing and taking in a deep breath, hold for a couple seconds and exhale for 7 seconds. Do not hold your breathe long or you disrupt the oxygen you want coming into your lungs. And you will be back at too much carbon dioxide. It's interesting how our body signals us that something's not right. It's just with anxiety we jump to the worse case scenario instead of accepting it's anxiety.

I'm just hoping that if anything was wrong, it would have been picked up by now.😞

Nothing had been picked up because there isn't anything to pick up maybe?

It is your anxiety doing this to you? You need to do things to take your mind off this, keep yourself busy by doing things like hobbies or learning new things, being with other people, do exercise etc, don't sit and dwell on things that make you worry.

Every day on here there seems to be a similar post. Chest pains, worrying about heart, all tests normal, age usually in 20s.

It is very common.

Trust in God to look after you. The more you think about, write about and pursue doctor visists, the less likely it will resolve, but it is much less common in older poeople, so it will settle eventually

The thing that is wrong is in your response and thinking. That has to change
