Hi can anyone tell me how long they had to wait for results from echocardiogram plz .. had mine done 3 weeks ago and have not been told anything

l had an echo. on 20th November. I have not had the results yet, which is quite stressful as been getting more AF., together with ectopics. Would they have been in touch by now if something is wrong or do they now make you wait until your appointment for results? I am waiting for appointment date

I am due to have an echocardiogram tomorrow and wondered what I should expect and if I will get my results on the same day or if I will have to wait for an appointment for the results. Thanks

So, I had an echo last week done privately and I just got the results. It states that my mitral valves have become thickened. There is no stenosis, regurgitation - yet - and they are still mobile. Is it possible for echocardiogram to say one thing and an ECG to say another, my GP has started me on 1.25mg ramiprill.

Went for an echocardiogram on 20th October and waiting to hear back. How long do they take please ? Still waiting to hear about the 24 hour ecg appointment.

Thank you to everybody who has replied regarding the time they have waited for an echocardiogram. It seems to be very varied, from a short time to a long one, depending on where people live.

Have waited since September 19th for echocardiogram result in the UK. Is this a long/short delay ?

I had an echocardiogram last October and have had another one recently. I got a letter from my cardiologist with a copy of the results saying it was ok but he gave virtually no information about the progression of my heart failure and permanent afib.

I have since had a treadmill stress test and told I am on the list for an echocardiogram but no appointment for this or to see consultant. The bisoprolol is making me extremely tired and gives me headaches but GP will not discuss it as I am still waiting to see consultant.

i had a triple by pass on 2018. 2 years later an echocardiogram revealed a leaky aortic valve. My consultant believe I would not be suitable for key hole surgery, which means opening up my chest again. Anybody experienced this?

Thanks everyone who responded to my post about echocardiogram waiting lists. I have phoned my consultant's secretary and been told the wait is about 6 months from referal at the mo so I should be getting an appointment for April. Fingers crossed, I should hear soon.

hi I have just had my 6 months echocardiogram and the sonographer say’s she is surprised I don’t have symptoms, as valves are quite tight ! Am waiting to see my cardiologist now but wondered if anyone else found they had severe valve problems with little signs of symptoms?

Hello to everyone, so I had my echocardiogram a week ago, I was told my results would go to my GP and could take quite a few weeks. Could that be a sign everything is ok? Has anyone else had an experience where results go to your GP and the results showed something wrong?

I had an echocardiogram in March and told mitral valve was leaking. Echocardiogram was repeated in April. Saw a consultant last week and was told that heart function had gone from 55 to 46%. Any morale boosting or ideas would be welcomed. Best wishes, Robin.
