How can I clear my mind of the last 2 years of bad experiences.
Hi cherub,
Sorry to hear you've been through a difficult time. I know what it likes when you feel like you can't clear your mind of bad experiences. I used to have flashbacks of one particular memory even during the day, and they didn't stop till I brought it up with the school counsellor - very reluctantly so (it was very personal but it wouldn't go away so I didn't feel like I had any other choice). But it depends on the person though, when thoughts were affecting my mum's sleep, for example, she would imagine them 'floating' away in a hot air balloon. Your's sound like a good idea, but maybe you don't need to go as far as burning them, just tearing them up, scrunching them and throwing them behind your shoulder into the waste bin (the bin behind you while you face forwards, remember that, that is an important bit) may suffice.
If you haven't already, maybe see your GP and discuss it with them, you don't deserve to suffer now because of what was happening then.
Hope this helps.
Soft (((hugs)))

Thanks for replying to me. x .
It is one of the Bach flower remedies (homeopathic) Google it and you'll get lots of info. I usually buy from Amazon and it's fairly cheap. A small bottle lasts quite a long time as only a few drops needed Good luck - I know how difficult it can be to stop unwanted memories taking over and if you do decide to try Bach flower remember O.K. to take if needed in day -. Memories don't confine to bedtime!
I think most times the fear of the thoughts are what keep them coming. I too have had tough last 2 years. The thoughts and feeling that come when I remember everything causes me anxiety. I was told it is hard to change your thoughts, the subconscious works out of our control, we have to learn to change our reaction and perception of the thoughts. You kind of have to let the thoughts come, acknowledge them and then intentionally thinking or do something else. I think if our first thought is oh know, I can't feel this way, the anxiety wins. I know this is so much easier said than done, but I think getting over an anxiety disorder takes so much courage, heck living with one every day takes courage too. Hope you feel better!
