well I told them to shove their job............

I had a good first day but there was no organisation in the beauty suite to a point of it being a joke and very stressful........... but told them what they needed to buy,,,,,,, and waited for it to be ok'd.....

Spa manager said this should be ok (one of the reasons I declined the job in the first place was cos she said they were tight and I suspected Id have a nightmare trying to get them to buy things)....

So went off to wholesalers to get some products needed and got message saying dont buy the manicure table and chairs, they dont want to spend the money..........

What a joke, I was furious............. this is supposed to be a bit of luxury and they bring me a shitty table and shitty old chairs for the beauty suite............. So I said well dont book any manicures in cos youre doing the business more harm than good doing it in a shitty room with shitty stuff............ people expect more than that these days.............They havent a clue on the beauty side...........

So I TOLD THEM TO SHOVE IT.............. Im not working in those conditions and giving myself a bad name as a beauty therapist.............. I know I look diva ish now............. but its about a bit of luxury not making do with shitty furniture thats stained etc............

NO wonder the other therapist dint stay more than 2 days!!

So anyway maybe if I didnt take pride in my work, I could have done the 5 weeks and took the money , thank you very much...........but I cant do that, I have standards!!

So........... How is everyone else??

Yeah I know that theres not a lot of work around, but I cant compromise my standards to work like that................ theyre doing the business more harm than good..............

No I havent got anywhere at home............ something will come up when the times right............. if Im gona earn crap money (£7 pr hour) then I can work anywhere, and would rather work in a nice place with nice products so that I can do my job with no stress...........

Hi Anne I'm like you I would rather do a really good job and you can't do that with crap tools so its their loss you deserve better and it will happen. I've had a rough few days but I will get there(million miles better than a few months ago). Trying to be well enough to get back to my job and potty training my youngest son and running around after my older son whose six = busy and bonkers prob sums me up ! Xxx hope you have a good day

Hi Anne,

Sorry the job didn't work out. I've been in places where I found the standards beneath my own but I just had to suck it up and get on with it as I was in no financial position to do otherwise.

Im not bothered cookie............. its not that Im a snob and their standards are beneath me but you cant expect people to pay good money for treatments and make do with shitty stuff , its just not professional..... and would do the business more harm than good and I wasnt prepared to put my name to that.........

I suspected this when I originally went for my interview and it was one of the reasons why I rejected the job.......... I knew they wouldnt buy the stuff they needed to do the beauty suite properly............

It was really stressful too cos of this............. and I dont feel great really about telling em to shove cos I feel like Ive let them down.... but I just couldnt work like that..

I dont feel great about it cos I feel like Ive let people down, I dont like doing that............. but If theyre not prepared to buy the stuff im not prepared to do the treatments........ I wouldnt mind but they had 14 people booked in the spa side whcih means they made £770 for one day without doing owt and they cant buy a manicure table and chairs!!
