My Name is Amro, but call me Mero. A 32yrs Egyptian born with tetralogy of fallot heart problem in 1992, made a surgery in 1993 ( in UK ) and 2004 (in millan-italy) for that problem and lived on. I experience terrible social communication with every single soul (except my parents) regardless of age, specially with females. I don't have a normal life like anybody, never experienced love and love back towards any lady, lost self-confidence, don't have a job job, afraid of rejection and bullying and consequences. Never been in a relationship/or married. Recently my father passed away in 2021 and been diagnosed with diabetes. I'm depressed most of the time. Supposed to have heart surgery for my ignored heart problem cuz of cost of surgery in Italy-Millan , hadn't got any treatment so far and my heart status is collapsing. looking for any help or advice or a shoulder to lean on. should i shout out here or keep my mouth shut and be-satisfied with what's at hand ? should you scold me? do you see me wrong?

What shall i do, any advice, any help?
Hi Mero, Thank you for your post. π
Putting your thoughts out into your forum is one of the important things the forum is for.
Members have all sorts of lived experiences and can relate to you.
Mental health and physical health are linked because together they determine our overall well-being.
What's important to understand about any health condition that it doesn't look or feel the same way for everyone who has the same diagnosis.
I would encourage you to look up local support groups in Egypt for heart conditions and mental health. Dr Google can help with your searches.
Having said that, our fabulous members are here for you 24/7 π because we located around the world.

Hello "blackcat64013" thanks for your reply and your compassion
Egypt unfortunately have great doctors every department but for cardiology, courtesy of Dr. Magdy Yacoub, he was the first to operate on me in 1993 a year after my birth in UK, Harefield Hospital then second operation we couldn't agree terms so i went to Italy and supposed to go back to them for a third but too expensive + accommodations (how sad is it that a patient room costs 500 euros per day!! for overseas patient ? why italy ?! )
Hi Mero and welcome to the forum. You will find lots of support on here.
May I also suggest you take a look at the British Heart Foundation forum. Although you're not in the UK , you can still access the site and you may be able to get support and information on heart related topics .
Here's the link for you
Thank you "MadBunny" for your reply good day to you
I will check the link, thank you. I was first treated by Dr. Magdy Yacub at Harefield Hospital. Do you have any info about it ? i lost track of this medical institute
Mero
This is a platform for you to speak about your anxiety.
I'm sorry for the loss of your dad.
What type of surgery are you facing now? Anyone would be anxious about this

Hello "Dolphin14" Thanks for your warm reply. Its open-heart Surgery, tetralogy of fallot. valve replacement of some sorts. first was after birth 1993 UK, second in Italy 2004, supposed to get back to them for a third but costs way too expensive 30k euros.
Holy crap! That's out of pocket expense? That's insane.
How are you functioning on a daily basis? This must be effecting your quality of life?
see for yourself and tell me im wrong that's was the attachment of last e-mail sent to me by the surgeon's secretary its 2 pages sorry
..
Wow. Not sure how they think the average person is supposed to pay for that
I'm afraid to think that they relay on the fact that overseas patient from another country is rich just because he/she could afford flying tickets
Hello and Welcome. This forum is really supportive. I'm sorry about your Dad. Surgery is hard. I just had some a couple weeks ago. This is a safe place to share your feelings which I would continue to do.
Welcome to HU group!
First let me say I'm sorry for the passing of your father. My condolences.
Second nobody needs to scold you. Having heart problems and the struggle of paying for medical care is something a lot of people can relate to. Especially for members that are from the US and uninsured. Hell even with insurance it's still very costly. My mom with her heart issues and all her hospital stays went over the $1 million dollar mark. But luckily she had Medicare. But her copays for medication can be expensive for her diabetes.
If you need support, we are here for you. You need to vent, go ahead. Looking for advice, you came to the right place.
Wishing you healing and peace π« β€οΈ
Hi Mero
I strongly suggest you either delete or edit the pictures of your documents as soon as possible, both on here and the BHF site. They contain personal details and bank references and anyone could access them .
Although this is a health site, anyone on the Internet can see them unless you lock your post .
I advise you to lock your posts so only members of the sites can see them . Otherwise they can go viral on the Internet.
To back lock your posts find your edit button and re-post it. Once it's locked a little padlock will appear next to the post . The edit button should be at the bottom of the text you have typed.
I'm not trying to tell you what you should do,- just giving you some friendly advice .
Bunny
This is great advice. The documents aren't necessary for anyone here to see.
I just saw the Posted documents on the British Heart site as well. They won't allow that to stay up on that site.

That's true. They're very strict on there .
yeah i just found out the hard way, they are all medical reports of mine relevant to the case, nothing personal worth stealing or nudes. i wished if there's a cardiology doctor there would read them and help me in some sorts but i guess not, i regret posting there really π‘ thank you guys for heads up
There are no medical experts on any of the sites as these are strictly peer to peer support only. They are for those living with conditions seeking support from others in the same position.
and what support exactly shall i get ? from your point of view
Mero_
This being an anxiety and depression site that's the type of support we can offer you. As hypercat said there is no medical support here. You will need to seek that on the outside.
What type of things can we help you with? I know you are facing a redo cardiac procedure which has to be very stressful. I understand it must be very frightening as well as concerning as you don't have the funds for this procedure.
I think we are just letting you know we can listen and support you but cannot do anything about your inability to access medical care.
Can you tell me how there are so many countries involved in your medical care? Does it have to do with the nature of your cardiac issue that you need to leave your country for the surgery? Curiosity question as I like to learn about the medical practices in other countries
yes i had to do it abroad, because Egyptian cardiologist aren't that good/experienced to entrust them with your life except Dr. Magdi Yacoub. First surgery was done by him in UK, but he had grown too too old to operate again, just acting as a consultant nowadays, and the second courtesy of my father who's dead now, so ??
LOL , meant so as in a question , so what do you think kind of a phrase and nice to meet you
