I take atarax 50 mg for anxiety as needed. one pill for anxiety, two pilis to help me sleep. I'm trying to not take it but I only got three hour last night.
I tried trazadone and like I really tried to stay on it for about 2 months and i just could not tolerate it 😢 it made me angry and grumpy all the time .
Thank you tho for replying… I’m so glad that it works for you 🩷
Mskitty21 I would be interested what you are prescribed. I take all the same medications you do. My clonazepam was supposed to be for sleep for me (along with anxiety) but I've been on it so many years, not sure it really does much at night. I have taken it a bit earlier in the evening and that helped a bit. My psychiatrist wants me to get off of it on a regular basis and then I will need something for sleep. Not looking forward to doing that.
He prescribed me the clonazepam for sleep as well and when that wasn’t enough I started taking melatonin as well. Now that combo along with magnesium isn’t working 🙄
We are thinking of changing from Effexor to Zoloft but again I’ll still need something for sleep so I’m not sure what we’ll decide. I took restoril for many years for sleep and that was good but when my anxiety (last year) really got ugly it became dangerous to take that along with clonazepam.
I’m just so confused why my anxiety wakes me up now. And I have long periods of when I’m ok but when it gets messy again it’s so exhausting. But it’s all good the end I guess… we learn as we go and the bad days don’t last forever right 🩷
I take about 1 or a little less than 1 mg of Klonopin before I go to sleep. I work strange hours 3PM-Midnight M-F and from 10:30 AM -2:30 PM on the weekends. During the week even with the Klonopin , I usually don’t fall asleep until between 1:30 AM - 2AM
I take 1 mg at bedtime and it relaxes me but isn’t enough to put me to sleep. I thought about maybe taking more but that’s always a slippery slope ya know.
I've read that it doesn't suit everyone, and Gabapentin is the alternative often tried. I feel lucky that this worked and over the moon with what it does for me.
Hi, I saw a new psychiatrist in March and he is doing a mix of medications and holistic/over the counter meds. For sleep I take 10mg Ambien and 2 Calm Aid (lavender) at bedtime. He also gave me some blue light blocker glasses to wear at night starting at 6pm to block out the light from the cell phone, tablet, computer screen, and tv, that affects something in our brains to affect sleeping I have noticed a big difference in sleep and I'm waking up less anxious in the morning. Still have a little sweating and slight vibration in the morning but nothing like before with the shakes and panting and nervousness. In the past I tried taking xanax for sleep, melatonin, benadryl, and probably some other stuff I can't remember but none of it worked. Everyone's body chemistry is different. I hope you can find something that works for you.
I took Viibryd for a few months back in 2015 and it helped me but the eye dr said it was one of the worst ones for my glaucoma so I had to go off it. I spent a year trying all different meds and getting messed up from side effects. I'm glad you can take Viibryd.
I may end up trying that… I haven’t wanted to but we’ll see. I just basically want to get all my meds figured out and I have to remember that can take some time.
