Effexor

Has anyone used Effexor ( venlafaxine ) for hot flashes. MO prescribed Effexor 37.5 mg for dad for hot flashes. Since it is an anti depressant I think it may help also in the dullness that has come into him since being on xtandi.

I am currently going through a pretty bad withdrawal from Effexor. I weaned off as my doctor prescribed +3 months I added on just to make sure because I didn’t want to feel like I felt when I missed a dose. I was on 300 mg a day after five months, I got it down to 37.5 for the last three weeks.

Upon seeing my GP, he decided to raise the effexor to 75 mg. Still no improvement in anxiety. After two weeks, he raised it again to 150, then 225, even though I questioned the increases. One day, I saw one of his partners, and asked her if I could just drop the effexor, since it wasn't helping.

Effexor and buspar just made me cry. Lexapro made me sick. Does anyone take gabapentin for generalized anxiety disorder? or trintillex?

Anyone have any tips on how to successfully come right off Venlafaxine/Effexor? I badly want to come off it now, but i don't want to be dysfunctional for an unknown quantity of weeks/months...!!

I have tried paxil, effexor, abilify, lexapro, zoloft and now viibryd. I am being weaned off zokoft even tho I was only on it 6 weeks. My anxiety is very high right now, not sure if it's from the weaning.

They just recently took me of of Effexor and put me on Prozac. I waiting out the 6 weeks to increase the Prozac and it’s been very ruff. I fill like I’m going to have a nervous breakdown. Need to make connections with people because I’m pretty much home bound

I was doing good with my supplement routine (vitamin d, theanine, magnesium glycninate and b complex) but I think I’ll try Effexor. It’s been a year now of suffering from anxiety since that virus. Sometimes I’m so overwhelmed with helplessness since I try everything to feel better.

So whenever I’m not feeling good even with Effexor XR I run to him to talk to him and ask him for help. I have a large beautiful framed picture of the Lord praying in the garden of Bethsemany. The lord is good he will help you in your darkest hour, believe me I know !

Hi My husband has been taking Effexor for hot flushes and it does not seem to be effective any longer . He increased the dose from 37.5 to 75 mg and that did not seem to make a difference. He has been off Effexor now and the oncologist is saying to try the low dose Estradiol patch .

I saw a video of how bad coming of of Effexor was and now my anxiety has gotten bad about taking it ☹️ any advice would be appreciated…. Not feeling so great today

I’m switching meds from effexor to Zoloft. I’ve been doing well until today.. day 9… I think more and more of the Effexor is getting out of my system. Anyways tomorrow is my 50th bday and a cpl of my kiddos are here to celebrate with me.

I am 60 with MDD and currently trying to wean off of Effexor XR 150 mg (have been on this for 20 years) and having a horrible time going off. I would have petit mal seizures in the past if off for 48 hours.

He also is taking Effexor 75mg for the hot flushes which has decreased them . He keeps busy in day and exercises as much as possible. Has Zoledex injection every 3 months and Nubeqa daily. Finished chemo on April 18. The fatigue is brutal for him and he is struggling.

I take Effexor and buspar plus a clonazepam 1 mg before bed… I tried remeron but even tho it worked the side effects were not good for me. I have an appt Thursday… just seeing what all yall do take to give me some ideas. I really need my sleep ☹️

My doctor wants me to go on Effexor. I have many drug allergies and usually do not do well on medication.
