I’ve been through CBT, grounding, self visualization, etc. I know about rubber bands on my wrists to snap, 333, breathing exercises, sticking my face in ice water, aromatherapy. Are there other methods people are using to help get over active panic attacks? Just want to help each other. Thanks

Tips and Tricks for Panic Attacks
Hello. I am sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I wanted to reach out to you and welcome you here. Hopefully someone else will reply with a suggestion. It sounds like you have tried so much.
Sleep. Yeah, I gotta work on that. But I find that being more calm all the time reduces the number of panic attacks and lessens the severity. I have to schedule down time. I've been working on this for over 20 years. In some instances, I can tap my foot and say, ''here; now; here; now;'' etc. Or even imagine someone tapping their foot and saying it over and over. I tried all the stuff you listed and it didn't work. My psychologist at the time said that there was just too much anxiety for any of it to work.
First, I'm sorry you're struggling. Take a look at this website theanxioustruth.com/ - Drew talks in depth about how doing things to try and make the panic go away actually makes it worse. He has books, two podcasts, workshops, and more. Here is a link to one podcast episode on panic attacks disordered.fm/what-should-i... - There are also more resources if you type in panic in the search bar at the top of the anxious truth page. Good luck and hang in there!
I recommend DARE: a new way to end anxiety and stop panic attacks by Barry McDonagh
I usually lie on the floor to ground myself. Just remind myself that I'm okay and this will pass. Yes, it sucks but I'll be okay. Just have to accept that this is happening and it'll go away by itself. Emotional Support teddy 🧸
Then when I feel a little bit better I watch something funny on TV or YouTube videos and chill. A good nap will restart my brain and I'll feel much better.
Hey, I'm sorry you're going through this. I have them too. I'm on a low dose of Sertraline, I do dialoging with my body (when I'm not in a panic attack) to listen and learn about the process inside. I locate it specifically in my body, and ask that part what I can do to help it. I also did the FreeSpira training, and although it was a thousand dollars, it really does help a lot. Good luck to you. Also, look up Somatic Experiencing on Youtube.
Mjmack, I'm interested in what dialoging is and how it works. Is there any info you can share about it? Thank you.
Hi BlueAgave, I really recommend this little book called Focusing by Eugene Genlin. Best of luck to you! a.co/d/ef56UQ4
