There are so many therapists out there, how can you be sure you are choosing someone who is the right fit for you? ADAA member Michael Stein PhD provides 5 tips about how to find the right therapist for you.
I'm not able to provide some good advice that will ensure you will find a good therapist every time you need one. But what I've done for years is meet with any therapist that my health insurance pays for and give them a chance. Thankfully, I've had very good therapists many times in the past. I need treatment for a real illness, and that's what I focus on getting when I meet with therapists.
