the secret is everyone experiences mental crashes. It is a shame we don’t talk about it more. The difference is only degree and resilience. Resilience is thankfully a skill. You can learn how to react when you crash.

Hi Blueruth, "You can learn how to react when you crash."

Where? Can you suggest where to go to begin learning?

CBT is a good start. Brene brown teaches shame resilience.

Google helped me with Brene Brown. I found a lot to read and go through, thanks.

For example… often when people are sinking they have thought distortions. They are untruths you tell yourself which are like a self fulfilling prophecy. If you’re able to identify them you can flip the script. Your therapist and maybe even a workbook or book (CBT or DBT) can help you. Once you know what you are prone to then you can begin to take action rather than waiting for it to “happen “. The OP is mind reading. Do those people really under appreciate them or are the simply unaware? Or is the OP outwardly different like I am? They think they are stronger than they are? The OP is expecting others to mind read? I am totally making that up based on very little information but hopefully you start to see. You need help and practice building those mental muscles. That’s how you can use therapy to help.

Thanks for your reply. I'm stuck on "OP". What does it mean?

It is true, at least partly, but depends also on your personality, if you are sensitive, and so on. I do not mean physical as you understand, talking about physiological harming, which is not temporary if it is seriously.

Therefore if you are that kind of person, you have to know that before and think of it one extra time when you go into something, especially if you cannot solve or get help at that situation then it can be overwhelming and give you much stress, trauma and so on because of it is to much pressure especially for a sensitive person who then or later can be overthinking which is not good and not a solution, but you cannot help it, so it is important to be more or less aware of yourself and of course the environment as well, especially if it is new places with bew people, which is the most important thing with new environmen, places. Thanks

Yes it is possible to go a long time functioning and then crash. It happened to me also.

In hindsight I do see quite a few coping skills that were not very healthy for me. Have you seen any of this in yourself? Just curious.

Therapy and self awareness brought me back after the crash. Meditation and self education are key for me.

Take care of you. Sadly not everyone understands what we struggle with so they don't know how to help us.
