I’ll come straight to the point. I was watching a movie a few minutes ago when out of nowhere I started feeling really really low. It was so overwhelming that I stopped the film, changed my chair to one where I can lean back and have been listening to podcasts of mental health and some comedy. As I’m writing this post, I’m feeling a little better. I feel like I want to have some chocolate to release my sorrows but I’m scared of gaining more weight! This is quite a situation. What do you guys do when you feel depressed?

Well done joeyman , for turning it off and listening to something more positive! That’s GREAT self care !!!! Concentrate if you can , on your end goal if you feel you should lose weight . Try not to let this stop you from accomplishing your goals . I don’t really believe in ‘diets’ anymore, for me it brings on more depression and the pressure I put on myself brings me down ( but that’s just me, as I was forced to diet by my ex husband) Just a slow decrease in foods we know are bad for us . Unless prescribed by dr of course . Also getting rid of the foods we really don’t want to eat anymore can help and have in hand something healthy yet yummy to pick you up if you feel the need
Good food that we enjoy can be a great pick me up , we should ENJOY food , I love it , it’s awesome 😆mmm . Also dark chocolate is supposed to actually be good for us here and there , and you can suck on it for a while not needing to eat the whole lot as it’s quite strong in taste .
I like to look at nature photos, call my family, text a friend, and eat dark chocolate!!!
I go outside to my back garden, look up at the sky [hopefully not raining?] take in a couple of breaths, walk inside and start up the laptop and contact HU👍👍
Hey Joeyman, im in a regeneration recovery program that helps me with my depression and anxiety.. But I also read, go for walks to the park, stay off social media, and talk to God and focus on him once I'm able to leave it to him, I'm able to feel so much better!

I listen to tons of music. I will listen to anything at least once. I also try to get lost in a good book. My smartphone that I have is getting to be too much of a distraction for me sometimes, I have to force myself to get off of it.
