Remember whatever you are feeling is ok to feel. I’m sorry for your loss and all that u r dealing with. My heart goes out to you ♥️ 💜 keep writing if it helps. You can get through this. What can you do to take care of yourself? Maybe a walk, a bath, some art, fav food or tv or anything healthy that makes you feel good.

Our dog had to be put down about 10 years ago. My narcissist husband couldn't bring himself to go with me, so my 18 year old son went with me. It was the worst day of our lives but it brought us together in that we were both very sad. It is a memory for my son of a time that I was strong and did what needed to be done. They told me at the vets office that I was doing the dog a favor because he was not capable of making any decisions or ending his own life. It will get better!

I want to add that I went through postpartum depression as well so I know it really is very hard but it does go away and I pray yours will leave you soon

I felt the same when my feral cat died. Alone. Because I was alone. He suffered for so long from feline leukemia. It was awful to watch. I couldn’t take him to the vet cuz he’d never been in a cage and he would have spent his last hour in complete fear. As wild as he was, he chose to stay in my laundry room close to me. He wouldn’t let me bring him in the house. I had to watch him seize before he died. All I could do was sit next to him and talk to him. It went on for a week. I couldn’t get a vet to come to my house to put him to sleep . The only thing I could have done was to shoot him, but I couldn’t do that . There should be some way to mercifully put down a feral cat, but I couldn’t find anything He stopped eating and drinking so I couldn’t give him pills. All I could do was cry until I stopped crying. I was alone and all I could do was feel the grief. And that’s ok.

I had to put down my 15/year old poodle. I took her to the vet. The vet missed the vein in the first try and my poodle went nuts. She was blind. So her last experience on earth was fear and bewilderment. I cried more for her than when my mother died. That’s ok , too. It’s grief and we have to feel it to get through it. Cry until there’s no tears left to cry.

I had a cat called Gemma the family cat, when I moved in to my present house, I was on Toppamax [40 minute pill] for epilepsy, this was my first house, I had never lived on my own, I was not competent to do anything, she was old and sick when I moved in, I got angry with the cat, could not cope she reminded of better times when I lived with my parents, who had died recently, I had to go down to the vet, she was put down, I went outside, just lent against the wall and must have cried for at least five minutes! I still have nightmares about her, when I have flashes of memory return, not nice!

The loss of a pet is so difficult. It's one of the hardest things to cope with I am truly sorry for your loss. On top of post partum depression and anxiety and other challenges, this must feel overwhelming. I wish you comfort and quick healing. You are not alone.

I'm so sorry for your loss. As all pet people understand, our fur babies are not just pets, they are family members. I had to put down my 13 year old kitty and only 6 months later I had to do it again with my 19 year old kitty. You have to go through all the stages of grief. You have lots of people here to talk to and know just how you feel and what you're going through.

You are going through a very difficult time right now. I had to put my 15 year fur baby in June and I was devastated. Time will ease the pain but they will forever in our hearts. Postpartum depression is very real too . It helped me a great deal to place my grief and pain in the hands of the Lord. Hope you feel better soon and feel the peace and love that you deserve.

My heart aches for you, it's such a hard and painful thing to go through, it felt like my insides were being sucked out of me. The best thing you can do for yourself is to let yourself grieve as much as you need to and for as long as you need and know that you will get through it but it takes time and try to be kind and gentle to yourself.

Awww my darling that’s so terribly sad! The loss of our precious fur babies is absolutely devastating and heartbreaking! I find it such a raw all consuming grief! We love our furry family members as much as our flesh and blood family but it’s a different kind of love. We know we only have them for such a short time! Regardless of what age they are when they pass it’s never nearly long enough!!! That maybe sounds callous but anyone who owns pets will know exactly what I mean! They are our babies, best friends, soulmates, confidents, nurses and therapists!!! The love between us is completely unconditional! You would’ve been an amazing pawrent. Sadly it’s sometimes just their time to go and to keep them beyond that would be cruel and selfish. Anything we do we do for them not to them. It’s with the very best and kindest of intentions for them. I’m heartbroken for you as I know that devastating loss all too well as I’ve had dogs all my life. I currently have three elderly boys 9 13 and 14. I’m dreading the day when I have to say goodbye. I’m sure they live on in that special place in your heart that only they can fill! Your wee fur baby knew how much they were loved. Some wee dogs live a whole lifetime and will never experience that love and kindness! You were both blessed to have had one another over those precious years. Rest In Peace Sweetheart. Sending you the biggest of cuddles and all our love Lorna & boys 🌈🙏🏻🕊️🐾💔😘xx

I am still getting over my last dog Bill who I lost at 16 in 2019 ,I was made redundant the same year so ended up going to Spain for a few months and walked the Camino to get my head around it.Very sorry for your loss. I still go to his favourite beach on a weekend in his favourite spot and remember the good times we had

I am sorry you are hurting over your loss of your beloved pet and suffering postpartum depression. Dogs especially give us so much unconditional love. God made them that way. I hope it is a comfort for you to know your dog's spirit lives on and you will be reunited one day.😇 In the meantime I pray for your healing from postpartum depression and narcissistic abuse. 🙏💗

I'm so sorry to hear this. I had to put a dog down one month after my youngest child moved out and went to college. The dog had grown up with the kids and her death marked the end of an era. I was VERY sad and depressed, but I tried to concentrate on the fact that the dog had a wonderful life. I have two dogs now and one of them is very old and blind. I don't think she has much time left. It will be a very sad day when the time comes to put her down. The dogs kept me company during the lock-down time of the pandemic. Anyway, even though going through this sucks, you will get through it, It is normal to be sad, so allow yourself to grieve.

I am so sorry to hear you had to put your dog down. We had to put ours down in August. He was 13. Such a sad time. Fortunately I wasn’t experiencing depression at the time, but I did grieve the loss of my “little guy” as we used to call him. I am also sorry you’re feeling so alone, but you reached out to all of us and we are here to listen, so I hope somehow this makes you feel somewhat less alone. It is awful isn’t it to feel alone even when you have another person there, I’m meaning the person you’re living with My husband is not a narcissist but he is very quiet by nature and I feel alone when I’m around him sometimes

I’m so very sorry. I too have had to do this with some past fur babies. Is so painful.

Breathe…it will ease. And you’ll be able to cherish the memories more easily.

Sending love. 💗🙏🌸
