Is 25 old

Hey stupid anxious thoughts of age all the time, but I’m 24 going to be 25 soon and I’m actually freaking out. So many people around me the same age are like we are so old now and I’m thinking to myself it’s not really that old, why are people wasting their youth by worrying about their age or thinking they can’t do youthful things anymore because they aren’t young enough. It’s really not helping my anxiety and it makes it worse because I know if I continue to stress years will go by and I’ll be annoyed at myself for worrying about me being old when I was young. Any tips on how to feel youthful and not freak out about ageing?

Also I literally have felt the same age since the age of 20. Also feel like I’ve had 2 years of my life stolen because of lock down end the pandemic.

Thinking back to the distant past 25 seemed old to me when I got there. I started panicking a bit when I thought about 30.

However looking back with the wisdom of age 25 now seems to me to be impossibly young! It's all a matter of perspective.

Don't listen to the doubters and live your life the way you want. Age is irrelevant as some people are old even when they are young. Congratulations in being one of the fun people who will always be young no matter what their physical age. In my head I am still 18! Find yourself fun people like yourself is my advice.

Haha yes I think I started feeling like I was old when I was 22 but have also felt very young at the same time! Now looking back at people aged 21 I look at them like they are babies. I’ve been saying to everyone that 20’s are the new teens and 30’s are the new 20’s. It’s hard to get rid of the anxiety of it without wasting my life worrying about ageing when it’s going to happen anyways. Thank you for this really helpful. Yeh I plan to make the most of these years and have fun :) just would like to stop worrying about it haha!

I was going to say a lot more to you but won't as I have noticed your post isn't locked to this community and I don't want personal information about me to go viral.

I am glad my reply was helpful though.

Gosh 25 is so young ,😳 enjoy it while you can , life is too short , enjoy yourself before you eventually settle down with all the responsibilities that life brings with it , live the day, Wish I was 25 again 🤣

Life is a journey not a destination

Hey, honestly I don’t have any tips but all I wanna say that i am 32 years old and i can tell you that am starting my life just right now, age is just a number it’s all about how you feel about yourself and what you can do, enjoy every single moment of your life cause they will not be repeated again.

The "5"s were always big birthdays for me. at 25 I felt anxious to live my life so at 26 I moved across the country with nothing beyond what would fit in my car. Personally I recommend this or taking time and traveling. At 25 you can figure out how to do it with little funds. You are both mature enough and young enough to do it. Each decade really has its own rewards and challenges... note I said rewards too :) Think of it this way... you literally haven't lived a third of normal life expectancy. By the time you get there life expectance will be closer to 100 so you literally have barely lived a quarter of life expectancy. If you start putting $10-20 each month right now, increasing as your income increases you could most likely retire early. Dang... if I had listened!

I would love to travel! I’m very bad with my money unfortunately but I’m going to aim to save just a little bit that’s going to be more noticeable when I’m older! I think it’s that there’s so much choice and I want to make the best choice for myself! I love socialising and having fun i guess people even after 40 still have fun. Thank you 😊

Get a backpack, check out hostels and just go. Even if you go alone you are guaranteed to make connections. Especially with your attitude! People have fun in their 40s... I know lots of people doing this in their 50s and 60s but just for a longer time period.

We've all had 2 years of our lives stolen by Covid, but 25? that's not old, especially looking back from the age of 73!

Age is just a number; It's how you feel inside that counts. Physically I may be 73, but Inwardly, the real me is 18! It's all a matter of attitude.

I have known folk of 25 bowed down by their sense of responsibility. Old before their time, because they feel they must be adult, 'responsible,' and 'grown up'. :( Also, I have known people who are young at heart, who don't care if they want to bungee jump or wingwalk at 50+; they do it anyway! :)

Don't worry so much about what 'Society' may think about you; It's YOUR life you may be giving up, do it on your own terms.

There is nothing wrong with being a bit eccentric, and doing your own thing for as long as you feel capable. OK, I'm not Mountain climbing any more, but I used to! Nowadays the body can't cope with very strenuous things, but the mind says differently! ;)

OK, Me, Age 73, Retired nurse, always sporty when younger. Climbing, horse riding, Orienteering fencing, archery. Ballroom Dancing, Theatre Arts, pretty much anything new. I still keep the interests alive, even if my body won't allow me to take part any more. Today's Teeshirt says 'Assuming I am just an Old Lady was your First Mistake!'

Age is just a number, it doesn't define how you must act.

Cheers, Midori

Nice one 👍

Your just still a baby in my eyes. I would love to be 25 again. I'd be outdoors doing things out there again. Enjoy it while you can. As you age you'll see things differently.
