People have the right to protect peacefully, but shouldn’t they social distance , where masks. I don’t see all people doing that, even children are out there with their parents, no masks, no social distancing. I know this virus is going to go up, it makes me so sad, full of anxiety. I cry most of the time, worrying. I’m not that young, I don’t know how much time I have left, really know one does. I can’t do this anymore, but I have to for my family, for other people, why can’t protesters feel the same way. Figure out a way from home, social distancing, to protest

Virus and protesting
Hope you are OK. I agree. It's good news that London Transport are saying wear masks now.
Well yes and no. Our govt has been saying for ages that masks, unless medical grade, can do more harm than good. Now suddenly coz they are panicking about the economy have changed their tune and are saying a scarf will do, and even giving instructions on how to home make masks!
Don't forget too the the millions of people who suffer from lung disease from asthmatics onwards. I have asthma and copd and wouldn't be able to breathe in one. The govt has made 3 exceptions, small children, those with lung disease, and the disabled, however they haven't explained how to convince transport staff we are genuine. Also what will stop the angry glares and nasty comments from other commuters? I am hoping my walking stick will be visible evidence of disability.
I don’t know where you live but they always told never wear medical grade. Our economy is climbing again
I am in the UK.
That’s the difference, I’m in the US!
I sympathise. Cynically, everyone will try and be the one with all the answers as a reaction against Fear and it is fright. Did you see the Fauci vs Mikovits video where the lid is being lifted over Vaccine Patent industry in the USA? They claim a flu jab is actually full of this virus! Wish you well. 🐒
You too, take care❤️
I agree. Some of the protesters we are seeing are clearly not thinking about the fact that a pandemic still exists. We are just opening up. Now how are we going to tell what causes the rise in numbers if they spike.
Some people are choosing not to mask at all anyways. That's another form of protest against " being told what to do"
There are a lot of peaceful protests and we have to keep that in mind. Media is not showing us everything that is happening.
Stay well and stay safe.
They are not showing us about the virus anymore, just the protecting
I don't watch the news. I read it and see small clips.
More time is defiantly focused on the protests. I'm still keeping up with the medical part through reading articles. My local government is speaking out everyday about the virus and the protests. Reminding people we need to follow guidelines. That's all they can do. People are going to make the choice for themselves.
Can’t make people do what they don’t want to do. Can advise, suggest and even scream from the roof top, but it won’t do much good.
My views on this could take up the entire space in this box Im typing in which won’t do any good either.
So I’ll just add this, It’s not just the protests, all children and their parents (I’ve seen while Ive been out) to younger and older adults even older than me, are not wearing masks or social distancing. I’m doing my part when I go out, and only go out when necessary, we still live by ‘safer at home’ till a vaccine.
Your right!
I hear you my friend...and common sense seems to be thrown out the window with most...
And some people are too dumb to know their dumb...has anyone looked at the fact that the US has the highest rate in the world of infection and death?...and it's still rising. England, Brazil, Russia, Mexico.....I'm simply amazed that people are falling for this BS of now it's magically okay to be opening up the countries....it's all about money...and lives are now secondary.
If you wear a face mask, which I do because of my age and risk factor, I wear one that is a seal fit mask with a filter. The reason it's said not to wear a mask is because they were originally worried people would deplete the supply, and also would not wear them properly, meaning that their constantly adjusting them and touching their face which defeats the purpose of wearing a mask.
This pandemic is picking up speed, and opening up countries that have some of the highest daily case and death rates amazes me. I also wear gloves, use a 60% alcohol sanitizer, and stay out of most places, I only go to the pharmacist. We'll know in about 30 days how well opening up the country went...and of course the high rates of infection will be blamed on the protests and not the fact that opening up the country's too soon was a stupid idea. Nobody is immune to this as far as anyone knows, and it only takes one person sick to restart the infection...that’s all it took to start this pandemic. Nobody has a magical bubble around them to prevent infection...I’ll wait for the vaccine tech and the trial runs before I risk my life. I have a back yard if I want to go out.
The authorities( in the USA anyway)have been pretty inconsistent on masks and isolating, in my humble opinion.
The virus has made me more self-reliant. I have someone elderly and sick depending on me, so I look at the news pretty skeptically for safety's sake.
My #1 priority is keeping her safe. She has no one else but me and I am really happy to help because she's such a beautiful person.
That’s wonderful of you take this person. I took care my father with 4 stage Cancer ,and other medical problems . But my birth family came down on me, and was really cruel.I did it alone, and they didn’t care.
What bothers me , and gives me more anxiety is the fact that you don’t hear anything about the virus anymore, just the protesting. Such a kind person your are, wish we had more people like you!
I think its partially coronavirus news fatigue.
Both for the journalists and the public.
But I plan to keep watching my county's department of public health numbers on the virus ( specifically, the # of new infections and the # of deaths) for the time being.
I can't influence the virus and who knows what the instructions will be for next week, but you can be somewhat protective and smart in the steps you take in your personal life.
As for my friend, I need her as much as she needs me.
I'm sorry your family came down so hard on you. No good deed eh?
You take care both of you❤️
Yeah, I agree. I wholeheartedly support the protesting and standing up against injustice. But the way you see them all bunched up together like that leaves me wondering if they're all gonna get sick and further spread the virus. I really felt the urge to join them, but by the way it looks, I decided against it
I think it is a terrible time to protest. There are so many way to support what you believe in and bring about change. I just feel that protesting is irrisposible right now durring a time when social gatherings put everyone at risk.
You are so right, thank you.❤️
I went to one of these protests, and this is what one of the speakers, a black male, said: we are certainly risking our lives in coming out for these protests because of the protests, but he also said that people of color would rather die of Covid 19 with dignity than at the hands of police officers. Granted, part of me does worry about the Covid 19 pandemic getting worse because of the protests, and it certainly will, but it's a risk that, in the end, will prevent thousands of future undignified deaths of people of color from police brutality.
I am not a black person, but many people had told me as a young girl, and now as older. They told me to sit in the back of the bus, and boyfriends mothers would not like me, or meet me because they thought a Greek person was black? But I would not want to get the virus, and take the chance of dying, and other people dying because of me. They are safer ways of protesting, besides this is not a site for these kind of issues, it is to help people with health issues ,such like Anxiety, depression, PTSD which I have all of them from abuse, and things said to me all my life. I am scared of the virus, and the terrible ways of protesting. Not all police do what he did to this man, yes it’s terrible, most of them protect us.
