Medication advice needed .

Hi everyone , I am trying to help a friend who's situation is not good .

He is 67 , living alone , has few friends , has multiple health issues and is depressed . One of the problems that is holding him back is a complete lack,of energy . Now I understand age is not helpful as I am the same age , but I recently learnt that he is on a treatment program of around twenty different drugs for his various health problems . It seems very likely that this total amount of medication could itself be responsible for zonking him out .

I am trying to find out on his behalf what affect and purpose all these drugs have , so my question is , does anyone have experience of the antidepressants Bupropion and Doxepin ? He has been prescribed both these and I would be grateful to hear of anyone's personal experience with them , especially their affect in combination .

He feels that he can not go on with life as it is , a feeling I'm sure many here will identify with . My friend is in the USA and I'm in the UK , so I'm trying to help long range .

Does he get all the drugs from the same pharmacy? Pharmacists are under appreciated in my book. Unfortunately they don’t always get to speak up. They know how meds interact with each other. Is talking to his pharmacist something he could do? Just to ask that exact question and maybe how these other drugs interact. it is worth getting them moved to the same pharmacy. Doctors do not always communicate as well as they should.
