My boyfriend needs some support and was hoping there might be other people from the USA who use this website..

This is his post:

So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and ask for some help. I live in Georgia and was wondering if anyone knew who I should contact about getting myself back on my depression and ADHD medication. I turned to my family who claims they want to help me but, their idea of helping me was trying to have me committed/sectioned. I would really appreciate the help. I'm tired of feeling this way constantly.

Edit: he doesn't have insurance and he hasn't got a job either since everywhere he's been applying to and even since attending interviews, no one has taken him on

Any help or advice on places he can go to get support with his lack of resources would be helpful to know

Like charities or health clinics who would be willing to help him despite him not having any means of paying right now

He currently lives with his Uncle who has taken him in out of kindness

Unfortunately he hasn't seen a doctor in a long time due to no insurance and despite the past 2 years of me being with him and him looking for jobs and attending interviews, he's been unsuccessful in finding work, this has also taken a toll on his mental health and led him to thinking he's a failure :(

Oh no so sorry to hear that. With no insurance he might have to go to the ER and then see if they can refer him some one who will see him till he can get insurance

I don't live in Georgia but most states have a free clinic or health department that offer free or sliding pay scale services that he could go to. If he isn't aware of anything like that around him, he could contact the local social services office in his area and explain his situation and they should be able to point him in the right direction.

Love and light to you 🤗

Some major hospitals have free care clinics, they are usually in big cities. You can also go to a hospital and speak with a social worker or care manager who might know of some local charities. If you are in a very bad state, go to an ER, and tell them. Every state has a different protocol and I am not familiar with your state. So I don't know how they would proceed if admitted.

See if your boyfriend can get on medicaid through your state and on food stamps. The medicaid will take care of payment. I'm on medicaid and I don't have to pay for visits or prescriptions since its covered by the insurance. Hope this helps you
